Lately it seem so many people are posting engagement pics on Facebook. Is it just me? I seriously feel like they are so cheesy/over the top, even if they don’t look cheesy. The idea is over the top to me. A pic of the two of you holding hands and looking over your shoulder at each other? The two of you cuddling under a tree in a park? The worst offender…my friend’s fiance holding a sign that says, “I asked.” and she has a sign that says, “I said yes!” Wow. It’s like people think they’re celebrities or something. I just don’t get it, I guess.
I should add, I love seeing pics of the actual engagement. It’s awesome when that moment gets caught on film.

Haha this is such an unpopular view around here, but I’m with you – I hate engagement photos. So I didn’t take them and I bite my tongue when they appear on my FB newsfeed.

I don’t like them either. We did a very informal shoot for our Save the Date cards and sent them to guests only, never put anything on Facebook.
Those kind of pics need to stay in your home, in a small frame, in your bedroom. haha

Uh a lot of those pics are posted here too. You pay for pictures & you can pose how you like.

I don’t see anything wrong with it.
I’m on Facebook to stay connected to family and friends that live far away or I don’t see much, of course I’m going to share these moments with them.

It’s not often people get a chance (or reason) to take professional photos with the person they love. Heaven forbid. 😛

I like them. I think they’re nice. I was excited to get mine.
You can dislike something without feeling “embarassed” for people. That’s a little over the top.

Uh oh. While I personally did not have engagement pictures done, I can see a lot of people being offended by this.

I think it’s cute that they are so excited about being together and getting married. I see no problem with it.

I don’t see how its any different than family pictures?

Um, I find them entertaining, certainly didn’t do engagement pics myself (doesn’t seem like a pro-photo occasion to me…in fact what is the occasion, unless it’s actually the day of the proposal? Which it never seems to be) ….but I don’t mind seeing others’ on facebook.
I only get grouchy if they post a whole bunch of those but don’t offer a single good shot of the ring… lol… that’s what I’m curious about… if you’re my fb friend, I’ve already seen your Fiance like a thousand times before… he’s cute and all, but I wanna see the ring! lol!

Our “engagement” picture is one of a kind… It’s the actual picture of our proposal. I’m crying and he’s on one knee. And there’s no way I’m not going to show that off!!!!

@RockStar33: Ditto. My maternal side of the family lives 16+ hours away. I love being able to share things like that with them in an easy location.

Don’t feel embarassed for me, I’m super excited to have mine up, and if you don’t like it don’t click on them!
