Haven’t had one fall out, but it’s more likely to happen with pave settings, which it looks like your ring is.  Since the ring’s new, I would see if you could exchange it, because if you’re already losing diamonds in a brand new ring, it’ll probably keep happening.  If the pave was poorly made, which it sounds like yours might be, you’ll be constantly fighting it.

What metal is it?

ah, ok.  Silver’s going to be difficult to maintain because it’s a soft metal.  It scratches and bends much more easily than gold or platinum, so if you repair the ring, you’ll have to be very gentle with it.  It’s a lot easier to lose small stones in this metal.

Yes with a silver ring with pave you must be much more careful than with other pave (which you have to be careful with to start with)! I would not wear it except when in public/out of the house.

I would be very careful. Silver is so soft for an everyday ring and to be holding pave…it’s not the ideal metal. I’ve had pave stones pop out of silver rings and bands warp just from dropping them to the ground. I’m afraid the ladies who posted above are right that the stones falling out will continue to be a problem, especially if they are already starting to so early..

Maybe down the line you could have the main stones reset into gold or another more durable metal?

I have a pave halo with pave band and never had any stones fall out.  My jeweler will replace any that do fall out free of charge for life, though.

@MrsWBS:  Same here.

OP, I have a white gold micro pave ring, which is the tiniest pave you can have…my band looks like it was rolled in diamonds…and I haven’t had any problems. We were instructed to have my ring “tightened” and examined about every 6 months. If I lost any though, they would replace and repair them for no cost. Have you asked the store?

I’m sorry this is happening…your ring is very pretty.

I think you should check out the return policy. Pave set in silver is never a good idea. Jewelry stores are just being cheap because the price of Gold went up. You’re setting yourself up for heartache. He needs to just put that $200 towards your REAL ring and move on.
