Oh I’m so sorry MsHymanRoth.  Take a deep breath.  I know the guest list part is so rough.  Do you live near your parents?  Maybe you can stop by and just have a chat with them.  Tell them why you’re so upset.  They obviously know you don’t love these people, but decided upon more htinking that they couldn’t not invite them.  Discuss this with them.  Tell them how it’s upsetting you, especially since your mom had approved the previous list.  I know it’s not easy, but probably talking in person (or at least on the phone if you’re not nearby) will be a good thing.  Just do it after you’ve calmed down so you can explain in a rational, not heated way.  Hang in there and big HIVE HUGS TO YOU!!

If you have these feelings toward these people, let me ask, do they have the same feelings toward you?  And would they actually show up to the wedding?  My biggest and only fights of my planning proicess have been guest list related too.  I raised a stink, threw a fit, cried. etc (although her calling off your wedding WAS a bit excessive…) but in the end about 70 of the 75 people I didnt want to invite (those were all Future Mother-In-Law – I was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissed) RSVPd no.  Like Kara said, talk to her rationally and calmly about your feelings.  Maybe she’ll see your point

Sorry you’re dealing with so much stress. Sleep on it, and try to chat with her when you’ve both cooled down. I agree with KellyV, those people may RSVP “no”, so don’t get too upset just yet.

Honestly, and this is not going to be what you want to hear, but if your parents are paying, you have to invite them. You don’t have to spend a ton of time with them, but chances are they don’t care to see you either {if the feelings are on both sides} and won’t come! So don’t fight with your mom over something like this. Enjoy your planning!

Glad it’s over, try not to worry too much about this, and enjoy the rest of the ride.

sendings hugs MsH… the guest list has to be the most fraught part of the wedding planning (other than paying for it i guess)

glad to hear youve made up… youre nearly there, just a few more decisions and things should be locked in soon

This is totally bad… but could you just accidentally “loose” their invites?
