hahaha the first time I forgot my ring at home, while Fiance was driving me to the train to go to work, I cried because I thought he thought it meant I didn’t love him anymore. OOOOOH the mini meltdowns ….

I just had my engagement ring and wedding band re-dipped so that they could “age” together, so I was without both for four days. I feel ya on the naked finger thing. I was so happy when I picked them back up last night. And now they look brand new! ๐Ÿ™‚

@MissCurlyQ:  I’m the same if I ever forget my ring.  I have a mini freak out every five minutes thinking I’ve lost it!!

I’ve been wanting to get my engagement ring cleaned and inspected for some time now, especially now since the wedding is a month away.  I’ve been hesitant because I’m worried the jeweler won’t do it while I wait and I can’t bear to leave it anywhere out of my sight.

I had a really bad allergic reaction to some lotion a couple months ago and my fingers swelled up really bad and couldn’t wear my ring for about a week and everytime I left the house I had mini-meltdowns thinking I lost it somewhere. Not fun…lol

@tracylesq: Whenever mine gets cleaned and inspected, it’s always done on-the-spot. The only time I’ve had to leave it was to get it re-dipped. And to get our bands engraved.

@Gemstone: how long does it take for them to re-dip and get it back to you?

@.twist.: Usually a week or less, but it does depend on the demand at your jeweler. This most recent time only took two days! When you bring them in to drop them off, your jeweler should be able to give you an estimate. ๐Ÿ™‚ Once, because a lot of orders were in, it was going to take two weeks, which is crazy. So they told me when I could come back and have a more reasonable wait.

I totally feel for you OP. My engagement ring had to be sent in to the jeweller for two weeks so they could align my interlocking wedding ring correctly. Then it turned out that they couldn’t align them and I had to order a whole new engagement ring.

Now I’ll do simple things (I spin my ring alot) and expect to hit my band (it had pretty pronounced edges) and I just get finger chub.  Needless to say, going on a month of naked finger is a bummer ๐Ÿ™ . Hang in there!

Can you say mini panic attack, ohhh geezzzz!I was so tempted to turn the car around but I was already halfway to work. @Gemstone: I see! Thanks! I wonder if you can go straight to a jeweler, even if you got your ring from a different store? The place I got my ring, they send it off to the jeweler and then I think I wait two weeks!
