I was driving back home from my FI’s house and noticed that my diamond looked different… it looked like it was no longer square because one side was bigger than the other. It was ever so slight, but I knew it was different. Thankfully I was about to drive past my jeweler (which is no where close to my house or his house… 1.5 hours either way). They took a look at it and said that the stone had in fact shifted somehow, but was still tight in the setting. The jeweler also noted that the setting prongs were too small for how big the diamond is! She is going to re-set it, but I have to wait 2 days for it to be done… and I’m not free to drive 1.5 hours until Friday, so I have to wait all week. Boo! But glad I caught it before the diamond fell out or something worse happened!

Aw! I SO know how you’re feeling!
I was having some serious issues with engagement ring that my Fiance proposed with and had to exhange it. The one that I am getting now had to be sent out to be resized. Im without mine until next Tuesday! So ten whole days from when I parted with it.
I’m wearing my promise ring that Fiance gave me for Christmas but it’s just not the same *whines*
Here’s my pretty promise ring that is keeping my finger warm:

Good job on catching it before the stone fell out! I know it feels weird not having it on but at least when you get it back, it’ll be tight and secure with new prongs!

I know how you feel. I had to get my ring resized and the setting tightened last month so I didn’t have my ring for about a week. It’s hard being apart from it. I would recommend getting a stand-in or wearing another ring that is special to you on your ring finger so it doesn’t feel so naked. If not, time will go by faster than you’d think and you’ll have your ring back and better than ever in no time 🙂

Thanks y’all! I know we have to go through this somtimes, but it’s just so strange. And when she was putting it away I almost cried! Are you kidding me?! I’m not a materialistic kind of girl, so I was kind of surprised when I got a little teary. But it’s just the meaning behind it I suppose.
I have a stand in that I got a year ago (before I was engaged) because men at my internship kept hitting on me. I might put that one on. But now I’m thinking I should just have a naked finger for a few days. This is probably one of my only chances to be ring free for a while. Oh well 🙂

I wear my promise ring when I can’t wear my engagement ring too!! I hate having naked finger syndrome!
