It looks like a beautiful solitaire but with the enhancers it looks too busy for my taste.

monika327:  I would just unsolder them and wear the pretty solitaire! You could use the diamonds in the wrap for an eternity band too.

The enhancers are too thick. They drown everything else out visually.

It’s s lovely solitaire but like other posters, I think the wrap is spoiling it.

It sounds like you aren’t really into solitaires and would have preferred a more sparkly, striking setting. If that’s correct, do you think you could exchange your ring without taking a big hit or hurting your fiancé? Did you discuss style preferences before he bought the ring?

I would wear it as a solitaire and get a nice diamond wedding band with small stones when you get married. It’s a nice ring but looks a little thick for my taste.

It has a thick overall look which is why it seems “80s” to you. Don’t disspair, someone can reset/fix it! It’s not your fault if you don’t like it. It’s so hard (especially for a guy!) for someone to pick out the perfect ring for someone else. I’m very picky so I let mine know ahead of time I wanted to go shopping together. I wish that was more widely popular as I feel its so hard for men to get it right and then the lady has to just pretend she loves it.

monika, it certainly doesn’t look outdated, there are lots of new rings like that around nowadays and bling is in!! I think it’s a beautiful ring, but it comes down to personal tastes and if you don’t love it nobody can argue with that. Maybe you can get the enhancers removed and tell your fiancee it felt too heavy on your hand, or you want the solitaire to ‘stand alone’  (some would say a big diamond is drowned out by too much around it). Or you could say you love the enhancers but would prefer the option of being able to remove them occasionally, and have the ring modified so you could wear them only sometimes?
