Oh boy oh boy oh boy.
I did a stupid thing. I tried on a dress outside of my price range. Of course, I love it.
But I am worried about a couple of things. will I be upset that I went that far out of my price range (about 4-500 more than I expected to pay)? I mean, its a dress, that you wear for ONE DAY ONLY! And also… It’s Pink!! which I LOVE!! but, will I regret not wearing white, just because it’s the only chance I will get to do that, but I’m passing that chance up? I need some advice! I think this is poll worthy.
here are some pics! (face blurred because I don’t want to give it away in case I buy it!) Sorry, I don’t know how to make them smaller! Although I heard there might be a way through here?
and this one:
and of course, the sit test:

It sure fits you like a glove and it’s reeeeally beautiful.
Did you find one that its up against?

White is overrated. I love that on you!!!
ETA: you can wear white to wedding related events! But if you think it’ll really bother you… It’d probably be just as beautiful in ivory or champagne? Is that an option?

It’s really pretty! What does it mean for the rest of your budget if you get it? Can you just up your budget and deal with it or will you have to cut something else important to you?
You could always spend less on accessories… such a pretty dress doesn’t need a necklace or a veil.
Yes, it’s just a dress that you only wear once, but you will also remember that dress for your entire life and look at the pictures all the time. One of my friends bought a dress she didn’t love and now, 4 years later, she is still so mad at herself over it. So while it is jsut a dress it is also the dress of your life.

Since I spent less than $400 on my dress total, I can’t imagine being $400 over, no matter how pretty the dress.

You might be able to order it in white, no? I’m pretty sure I just saw this dress in white if you think that would be important to you. I would get it- 4-500 is not that much in the long run

I think 4-500 isn’t that huge an amount over your budget…at first, I read it as 4500, haha.
If you really love it, you should get it! I think the colour is great and the fit is good, but personally I don’t really like the petals at the hips.

TBH I think you could find a dress in your budget that suits your figure better, im not a fan. BUT if its what you love then i dont think 4-500 is that much in the long haul. And white is over rated but if you think you will regret it maybe they could order in an ivory? Stark white i think will make the dress loose its romanticness

That’s gorgeous! Honestly, why don’t you ask if you can purchase the sample? It looks like it fits you wonderful as is, and by asking fo rthe sample you get to take it home right then and there AND save a bunch! I saved a ton on my Paloma Blanca by purchasing it off of the rack. 🙂

It’s gorgeous and looks amazing on you.. I say get it!! Just imagine years from now your grandaughter looking at old pictures of her grandma in her amazing pink wedding dress.. it will be classic.

@Jer72: I did find a white one that I also really like, and its 900, but It’s a sample dress – so It needs to be cleaned, and it also needs accessories, so by the time that all happened, it would come to the same amount as this one! Also, it was a boutique bridal store and they wouldn’t let me take pictures (BOO!) so Im having trouble comparing it to this one.
@mu_t: Thank you!! I was kind of thinking the same thing… maybe a white dress for rehearsal dinner or something… if I can afford it, lol.
@mrsSonthebeach: I talked to Fiance and he was awesome, of course, saying whatever makes you happy… I’m sure we would be okay, we would just have to cut a few corners in places where we didn’t think we would have to… or I’ll take a little out of my regular life savings to balance it out. But I was just really adamant that a dress shouldn’t need to cost that much. Guess I might be eating my words.
And you can bet that I will be inviting every married girl i know over for a once a month all girls wedding dress sleep over so we have an excuse to wear our dresses several times, hahah!
@MeiFrancis: You are right! This does come in white! I didn’t try it on though, don’t know why… but I think I am going to go back this week and do just that, just to make sure I wouldn’t have regrets about blush vs white!

wow, so many mixed responses on here… I knew this was a tough decision!! haah.
@PacificMrs: That… is a very good idea… it definitely can’t hurt to ask!
@Pokemon: Thank you for your honesty! what do you think about it is unflattering? Is it the fluffy part around the waist? I was wondering that myself. And yes, I think they have it in Ivory as well, but definitely not white. I agree with you on that point for sure.
@miss forever: I was tjhinking about the petals a lot too. At first, I thought, whoa, too much.. but the longer I wore it I started to like them… maybe they could be thinned down a bit… FI’s mom is a seamstress, so I wonder if she could work her magic with that!
@MardiGrasMambo: thank you so much!! Yes, I’m hoping that is exactly what it will be like! hahah

Wait. You have over a year. I have fallen in love with SO many dresses. Just sit on it. Tell the salon to notify you if they cancel the dress model. This is Vera Wang, right? You’ll be able to get this for along time. You hav ea year. Get the model number. Troll preownedweddingdresses.com and recycledbride.com. And if you still can’t let it go in a few months, bite the bullet. 400 isn’t that much over. It’s your only wedding dress. Do it.
