- Wedding: October 2012
So, I had several things working against me when looking for shoes. I have probably tried on about 50 pairs looking for something to wear with my gown and I was starting to get pretty fatalistic.
1. I’m a size 11 with bunions. Strike one. It’s really hard for me to find comfy shoes that are also pretty.
2. My dress is exactly the correct length – maybe even 1/2 an inch too short – and because of the organza layer, CANNOT be let out. The shoes needed to be flat, flat, flat, without even a hint of heel.
3. Many of the flats I looked at just looked like the flats I wear every day. Not special. I wanted my wedding shoes to be a little special.
Unfortunately for my pocketbook, my mom and I went to Saks the other day and my mom, who is awesome, picked up these:
Those are the Chloe Scalloped Patent Flats in Taupe. They’re perfect. They are so soft and they are going to be so comfortable. They are shiny and a little dressy but still very “me.” I am in love with them and I’m really excited that I will be able to get a lot of wear out of them after the wedding too!
They cost more than my last 5 pairs of shoes combined, but it was a once in a lifetime extravagence for me and I wanted to share how happy I am. I NEVER feel like my feet look pretty and now I do!
