Initially, I wasn’t ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the Lenox Chirp china that everyone’s been registering for. I thought it was cute, but wasn’t necessarily wanting it. But, the more I looked at it (both on here & on the BB&B & Macy’s websites) the more I fell in love with it. The original dinnerware sets I had registered for were:
This was for the more fancy, having people over dishes: Mikasa Chocolate Swirl (pretty inexpensive at $79 for 4 place settings)
and everyday dinnerware from Target:
I was trying to decide whether I could justify registering for relatively expensive china like the Chirp when I had found the Mikasa dishes that looked really nice, too, and after looking at them all day yesterday, I decided that I HAD to register for the Chirp because I fell in love with it!
Anyway, I have a couple questions. For those who registered for the Chirp, did you also register for casual everyday dinnerware? Or are you using the cute dinnerware for everyday purposes, too?
Also.. I like the large round dinner plate more than the square, but like the square accent plate a lot more than the round salad plate. Macy’s has open stock where you can mix & match (http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=292026&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results) but I wanted the Bees opinions on whether or not it mattered if I did round for the dinner plate & square for the salad plate. I’m still working my way through grad school so I haven’t exactly hosted dinner parties at this stage, yet. Do both plates typically go on the table at the same time? That’s what I was thinking when debating to do the round & square instead of sticking to all round. Thoughts?
