Yeeeeeah, I’ve always been told it’s bad luck to wear a ring on your ring finger (on your left hand) that’s not a wedding or engagement ring. Buuuuut, I also don’t walk under ladders, and I try not to break mirrors, and I don’t put hats on the bed. And I make a kiss and a cross if a black cat crosses my path. Do I put true stock in any of these things, and genuinely believe they will/are cause(ing) bad luck? No. But, it’s a fun little habit that makes me feel better. @VickyAurea:, if you wanna dance around the house wearing a ring, do you. I’m an advocate of just about anything that takes the waiting pain away, lol. (But I will admit to every now and then, putting on one of my regular old costume rings on my ring finger for  a few seconds, ‘just to see how it looks and feels’ Embarassed

I don’t think it’s a bad thing! I always wore rings on my left hand before I was engaged.  Do what makes you happy 🙂

This is so funny!  I alwasy joke with my best friend that I want my ring finger to be a virgin when SO proposes, so I have NEVER put a ring on that finger in all of my 27 years :-).

I’ve done that! I have a ring with my birthstone on it SO gave me a few years ago, and sometimes I put it on my left ring finger and spin it around so it just looks like a gold wedding band. Makes me pretty giddy!

I actually used to do this when I was waiting, as well. Especially when I went out alone to run errands. I don’t know why, but it clamed my waiting nerves a bit. Now that I’m engaged, if I go out with my ring off, I don’t seem to mind as much. I guess cause I know it’s waiting at home? You are not crazy. This was a very effective waiting tool for me. 🙂

@VickyAurea:  haha!  cute!  I like this… I’ve done it before around the house too, I don’t think it’s bad luck.  In fact, if you’ve ever read “the secret” it says you should already feel the way you want to feel.  So if you want to be rich, FEEL rich.  Maybe if you want to FEEL engaged you should by wearing a ring on that hand!lol

Ooh, I do this but I take it a step further… SO was engaged once before and he still has her ring. So sometimes when he’s not home I put it on and walk around with it. It’s a 1/4 size too big so I have to be careful it doesn’t fall off. If I believed in bad luck, I think this would be a terrible thing to do, so it’s a good thing I’m not superstitious!

It’s not even a pretty ring, it’s seriously ugly, I hope he makes a better choice for my ring. He knows what I like, so no excuses, haha!

I do this too! I have a ring from my Boyfriend or Best Friend (just a ring, not a promise ring or anything) that I wear on my left hand all the time and I sometimes pretend that it’s THE ring. Always makes him feel closer.

I had a cheap $10 ring from Target that I TOTALLY put on my ring finger before we were engaged. I’d only wear it at home on my day off though, but I wore it a lot. One day I forgot to take it off before FH came home Embarassed haha whoopsie. But we had already talked about getting married, so he just thought it was really cute.

That’s so funny but true! Yeah, they do sell cheap ones that look like real engagement rings for like $7-12 at JC Penny, Kohls, etc. I’ve always tried them on but never had the nerve to take one home. Now that I know he’s ordered the real thing, I’ll just wait for that one!
