I thought it was a myth or something I wasn’t capable of, but after a loooong time of looking at pages and pages of dresses (which all started to blur together after a while), I remembered the Edmonton dress by Dolly Couture and looked it up again.
My fella was in the shower at the time and there I was, sitting on the couch and tearing up while our cats looked at me like I’d lost my mind.
Bees, I am in love with this dress. Obviously, I’m going to wait a while before ordering since we’re over a year out, but damn if I didn’t get a little misty-eyed when I saw it. Every time I look at a full-length ballgown, I think it’s pretty but can’t quite picture myself in it. I wear a lot of retro dresses and skirts (I love me a petticoat, even for the grocery store), so the advice I’ve read to take your usual style and turn it up to 11 seems to fit here.
The online-only ordering thing does make me a little nervous, but I figure that if I do go down this road, I can order the size closest to what I need and have it altered (which I’d have to do anyway). Thankfully, they take returns on anything that isn’t customized, so that helps. And the price! Man.
Gah! I just wanted to gush over how pretty this dress is.

That dress is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!. I can totally see why yu are drawn to it. I say order now since dress styles can get discontinued and you may not find another you like as much.

Gorgeous! I love it! I love a tea length dress but thought I should get a full length dress for my wedding. In the end, I asked to try a specific tea length and I loved it! I twirled and started to tear up. Now I’m so excited to wear it!
team tea length!

It’s been around for at least a couple of years, actually–I was looking at it all the way back in 2009 (around the time I was getting ready for my first [shitty] marriage), so I’m not terribly worried about it being discontinued. That being said, I’m feeling good about this one! We haven’t even booked our venue yet so it feels a bit hasty to order now, but we’ll hopefully be signing a contact/reserving a date within the next month or so.

It’s super cute but I still reckon you should try on some dresses. Tea length wedding dresses are quite trendy at the moment so you may even find one you like better.

I tried on a few different silhouettes but none of them felt like “me.” (I have another thread with two styles, but I tried on a couple of others.) I wear knee- and tea-length dresses and skirts daily, so at least I have the advantage of knowing what styles I like and what looks good. I did like the traditional dresses I tried on, though it felt like I was wearing a costume. It’s kind of like white diamond rings…I loooove how they look on other people, but I can’t see it on myself.
