@orchidaloha: Yay how exciting!! It could be any day now! I don’t know how you resisted looking at it! I probably would have and then immediately regretted it. We don’t share finances so I know my SO wouldn’t want me to know how much he spent on a ring. Congrats on the willpower!
And I can’t wait to hear your proposal story coming soon! 🙂

Ok this is getting weirder and weirder!! We have talked about getting married in Hawaii this fall/early winter and I haven’t said anything at all to my family about this.
My mom just called me about something totally unrelated and she mentioned that they want to go to Hawaii this fall (they go 2-3 times/year) but she can’t book because MY SO told her to wait to book. I asked her what she said meant and she just said she talked to him last week and he told her not to book anything yet. What?!?! She said she was wondering if he’s planning on proposing soon and that’s why he said that, or maybe he can get them a deal to go (um, that one came out of nowhere! Lol).
Watch this space I guess!

@orchidaloha: Did you see the details of the reciept? I wouldn’t want you to jump into comclusions and then be very hurt and disappointment. If you have another chance, try to look more on the receipt. Also, get the receipt info such as date, time, invoice/receipt number, amount, etc. Call Birks and ask what this was.

HMMMMMM. That thing about your SO asking your parents to wait to book a trip to Hawaii is very suspicious. Definitely, he is acting weird (saw your updates in the other thread). Let’s just hope it’s not going to take forever!
I would force myself not to look at the receipt. Unless I was really driving myself cuckoo. As it is, I’ve developed a habit of looking at the recent sales of an Etsy seller who makes one of the rings I showed my SO (I even sent him a link to it). She sells a lot but nothing that’s made me wonder seriously if it was purchased by him, yet. . . though there was one somewhat like the one I like. AAHHH! I’m glad I don’t have angst anymore, but the suspense can be a bit much sometimes! I’m being super cool about it outwardly though– I have found it very easy to mostly shut up lately. How are you doing with the not mentioning it?

I didn’t say anything last night at all. I went to the gym and came home and cleaned then we had dinner and watched TV together and I kept my mouth shut.
I think if it’s been weeks I will probably be unable to resist and say something to him though.

@orchidaloha: I found a receipt a few days ago, too!! It just showed payment history dating back to December and I nearly fainted when I saw it. Hey, it was in his pants pocket while I doing laundry, not my fault 😉

Exciting for you too!!! 🙂
Now we just have sit patiently and wait…haha.

Definitely a good sign! I was at my good friend’s apartment last month and she was showing me a business card from a custom jewelry shop with item numbers on it, that had fallen out of her bf’s wallet… Fast forward two weeks, she has a gorgeous e-ring!
