So I had a suspicion that my Boyfriend or Best Friend had picked up the ring on Friday (because of sketchy travel plans). And then went in his desk drawer to grab the calculator, and theres a white ring box that definitely hadn’t been there. Now I really DONT want to know what the ring looks like before I’m engaged, but I am doing everything in my willpower not to open it!
I come home for lunch and Boyfriend or Best Friend doesn’t, and I will be out of town Wed and Thursday, so basically I just have to be strong at lunch Tuesday and Friday of this week. Since we live together, I wont be tempted any other times.
I sort of have a feeling it will be this weekend, especially because he gave me my birthday present 3 weeks early since he couldn’t wait. I dont want to get my hopes up but now I am going CRAZY!! I can’t tell him to hide it better because he has no idea that I know anything!
I know it is so close, but waiting now is worse than its ever been! I need some support bees!

Haha wow! If I were you that thing would have been opened the second I saw it! And if there was a ring in there I would have already tried it on!

Wow! I agree I wouldn’t wanted to have seen my ring until I got engaged but knowing it was in the house.. ooh, that would have driven me nuts. Isn’t it a huge relief to know it’s happening soon though?

WOW!!! How exciting 🙂
You have good self-control. If you were able to resist looking at it today, you’ll be just fine. It’s only lunch Tuesday and Friday, you have a good perspective.

While this is awesome news…Please PLEASE don’t open it. Let at least the ring be a surprise. BE STRONG!

Ooh this is so exciting!! My heart would’ve stopped if I were in your shoes!! Good for you not looking at it, I agree since you already know he has the ring, try your best not to open it.
EEE soon enough! 🙂

ooo… don’t peek! You’re so close, so stay strong. Only a short time, now!

Yeah, you totally have more will power than me. I would have opened the box.

Ahhh!! That’s SO exciting! I found the box too before Fiance proposed and it killllllled to not open it, but it’s very, very worth it because I was able to tell Fiance that I knew, but I hadn’t looked! He was mad at himself, but happy that I had self-control haha. 😉

OHMYGOSH! OHMYGOSH! Yayy!! High five for the self control! There’s no way that box would have remained unopened within 100 feet of me, but then I’d regret it. It’s so exciting that you know the ring exists but not what it looks like. I can’t wait for the update! Be strong! Don’t go near the drawer! 🙂

Major kudos that you didn’t open it! I soooo would have, even though I know I would have regretted it later. I hope my bf doesn’t hide it here in the house, ’cause I would hate to stumble on it.
Oh, and if you feel yourself being tempted, maybe you can change your plans (if you can do so w/o raising suspicion from BF) and NOT go home for lunch. Errands, lunch w/ a friend, etc. Just a thought. And good luck! Keep us posted!

Thanks everyone! Yall are keeping me strong.
@Wonderwoman217: Thats great advice. Maybe I’ll plan lunch on Friday so that I am not tempted at all! (PS, did I do the tag right? If not, will someone tell me how?)
I had a really bad night last night. I know I’ve been on the boards for only a few weeks now, but I have been actively waiting for over a year now. Almost 4 years of dating, its driving me CRAZY. Well we had planned to spend this weekend together and I was really hoping it would happen this weekend. Then he says something about going to some football game this weekend and crashing with friends. I’m sorry, he has the ring, I’m getting pissed, and he doesn’t want to just propose and make me happy!!!
I’d go with him but I am sick of hanging out with my engaged friends who haven’t know each other as long as Boyfriend or Best Friend and I have. I really dont want to say anything to him so he doesn’t think I am a brat–but I am getting SOOOO ANNOYED!!
For all you country fans out there, Blake Shelton said about proposing to Miranda Lambert that it ended many fights between them and she was much more pleasant and the relationship was better. Why wont other guys take that advice!!!
Sorry this is long, but I had to vent. I know I am close, BUT I’ve been waiting for forever, just do it!!!!

“For all you country fans out there, Blake Shelton said about proposing to Miranda Lambert that it ended many fights between them and she was much more pleasant and the relationship was better. Why wont other guys take that advice!!!” They should broadcast that on the news, our boyfriends need to know this valuable information!! Hahaha.
I know how you feel about getting mad about people who have been together less than you two have. C and I have been together almost 5 1/2 years. As much as I know I shouldn’t be upset and jealous, that mean little waiting monster pops up out of no where and starts putting thoughts in our heads.

@carolinabee: I totally hear you on the frustration… our 4 year anniversary is at the end of this month, I’ve also been ready for over a year, and we live together. I would be ecstatic to be in your shoes, but my guy won’t be ready for a while it seems. I know it’s hard to wait, but I definitely hope you can find the sheer happiness and giddiness inside in just knowing that your guy actually HAS the ring now!!! That’s amazing! Your wait is almost over! 🙂
To touch on what Blake said… not to say that I want my SO to propose to ‘shut me up’ or do it before he’s 110% ready to do so…
But man alive, I couldn’t agree with this more!! Seriously, the topic of when we’ll get engaged is literally the ONLY ISSUE we have!!! If we happen to have an argument, it would be over this.
