I am having my wedding dress custom made, and it is not done yet. It resembles the Christos Desiree dress. I love the Christos dress, and I’m sure I will love my dress, but my eyes have been wandering in the direction of the Mori Lee Blu #4524. I am planning on trying on the Mori Lee dress, but I think I might end up buying the dress! That will put me almost $1500 or more total spent on a wedding dress, plus I will have another dress I might never wear just hanging in the closet until I can (hopefully) sell it.
What would you do in this case? Has anyone purchased the Mori Lee Blu #4524 b/4? If so, how much did you pay total with tax and alterations?
Thanks for your help!
(Oh, and my wedding is Oct. 23rd, 2010)

If you love the dress you are having made then I probably wouldnt try on the Mori Lee. I think it would just make things harder on you. I havent even looked at other dresses since I bought mine in November. I just don’t want to tempt myself. I look at my dress often and still absolutely love it.
That’s just my two cents. Good Luck!

Finding the right dress is like finding the right man to marry. Once you think you’ve found him you don’t go looking for someone else.
If you feel like the dress you’re going to get is the wrong cut, fabric, or whatever for you then I say go try on a dress that will look something like what your gown will and see if you feel the same way about it. If you just can’t stop looking at wedding gowns and that’s what’s making you second guess your original decision…I say stop looking and wait for your dress to be done. I think you know what’s right for your body and had some sort of instinct about what you would look good in on your wedding day. Trust yourself, you will be amazingly beautiful!! And take this time to focus on other aspects of the wedding. Your dress is taken care of.
Also, if you ended up buying this second dress, is it in your budget? If you waited until your 1st dress was done and ready for you to try on and you hated it, would you still have enough time to order this new dress and have it altered before the wedding? If you can wait and it fits in the budget, maybe you can just wait for your 1st dress to be done and then buy the other one if you really hate it. Is it possible to cancel the order right now and get any of your money back?

Since your custom dress isn’t done yet, is there a way you can tweak it to look more like the Mori Lee dress? (I actually LOVE your original Christos dress though!) They look similar so maybe you can take a few things you like from the Mori Lee and incorporate them together. Good Luck!
