Today was my first (and last!) day of dress shopping! My mom and godmother flew across the country and my best friend met me downtown for two appointments. I was convinced I would find my dress at BHLDN because I love every single one of their dresses, and there were some top contenders. But then we went to Nordstrom. I hated almost everything on the rack and thought it would be a waste of time, but since we were there and had the appointment, my mom told me to try anyway. The first 6 dresses were a bust. Eventually I found a few that were pretty good, but not as good at the BHLDN ones.
I hit my limit. They were all blurring together, I was tired, I was grumpy, I wanted to go home. I told my mom they all looked the same. The stylist brought out one more dress and I begrudgingly got into it and fell. in. love. It wasn’t what I originally envisioned. I wanted either a short dress or a tulle skirt with a sweater. Something simple and low maintenance for my courthouse wedding. Instead I got an absolutely beautiful sheath dress. I’m planning on removing the train completely, but I loooooooooooove the off the shoulder look and how it falls on me.
I’ll probably be doing a flower crown instead of my original birdcage veil idea. I’m so happy. I cancelled my appointment for tomorrow and can’t believe I’ve already found my dress! SQUEEEE!
