Hey all, like the title said I found my dress! About 2 weeks ago I posted two dresses that I was considering. From the help of you amazing bees, I decided to take one more day to try on a few more dresses. I fell in love with the Casablanca Bridal collection and made an appointment at a nearby shop. One hour and 10 dresses later, I left almost in tears because I was getting so discouraged. The shop’s website listed all these styles that weren’t actually available to try on! I was told “Oh we’re getting that one in December” “Oh we don’t carry that one anymore”. I’ve tried on at least 50 dresses and was starting to think that I was just too picky and I was going to have to “settle” on something I wasn’t 100% in love with.
We didn’t even leave the parking lot and I was on the phone calling around to different shops asking if they had particular samples to try on. 5 phone calls later I found a shop that carried the styles I was interested in. As soon as I tried on Casablanca 1975 I KNEW it was my dress! I started crying as soon as the consultant put the veil on. And I’m not just talking tears, I mean full on “boo hoo” crying. It was such a mixture of relief and happiness. I left the first appointment sooo over trying on dresses. So here she is the Casablanca 1975 in Champagne with Ivory lace overlay
Now here’s my “dilemma”. I found it on preownedweddingdresses.com for half the price in my size, unworn and unaltered! The only thing is that the seller is insisting it is ivory although in her pictures it looks pinkish (which make me think it’s actually champagne). I asked her to take a picture of the tag and it says color “CIS” which I think stands for champagne/ivory/silver like it’s listed on Casablancabridal.com. I’m not even against champagne because it’s the color I originally tried on. I’m just a little annoyed that I have to question what the color is, especially for something I can’t see with my own eyes prior to purchasing and I probably won’t be able to return it. Also she doesn’t have the original sales receipt but she sent me pics of all the tags on the dress to prove authenticity. Should I buy this dress?? Does this dress really photograph pinkish or is it just her camera? I’m soo nervous buying something online but this deal is just too good to pass up! Sorry for the novel. I just worked 12 hours and couldn’t wait to come home and post! Please help!

The color looks the same to me! Plus, I think its really the style and cut of the dress that matters. Makeup colors can always be adjusted if the color looks a little different.

That dress is beautiful!!!! and you look amazing in it. Although I’m not a fan of champagne or yellowish colors, it really suits your tone very well. I say go for it!

I love the dress!! I think the preownedweddingdress one looks legit. It looks like the same color you tried on.

kellyk7: in the picture where there’s 5 on a page it doesn’t look pink. Only in the up close ones it has a pink tint to it. It could be her camera. …. if it’s half the price I’d jump on it!

I am wearing this same dress. The one in the advertisement is Ivory over Champagne.

kellyk7: You look AH-MAY-ZING! Get it! What ever color it is, it contrasts to the lace beautifully

Holy smokes you look amazing and that dress suits you perfectly! I had a champagne dress and it looked almost light brown in person, the champagne color was so dark. In my photographs, it looks a lovely ivory. It all depends on the flash and your professional photographers flash will be the brightest of all. Personally, I’d get it. I mean, you can always re-sell it if it comes in and isn’t to your liking.

I forgot to write in my original post that I was leaning toward ordering it in ivory/ivory
Consultette: Thanks! I guess I just started to worry that I am going to look like a big ball of pink in my photo’s because of how pinkish her pics look. My whole face, espcecially my nose gets pink when I cry (which I know I will on my wedding day )
AngelineRose: What color are you wearing?
Bridey77: Thanks! I’m starting to think that as well! That maybe the beautiful lace detail will get lost with an ivory shell
LuckiestGirlEvur: That’s what my mom is saying too, buy it and sell it if I’m not 100% happy. She even said “consider it an investment” lol

kellyk7: I voted, YES! Champagne. Because yes I think with the tag and the photos it looks champagne with lace overlay so I wouldn’t say the seller lied, she may just not know all the wedding dress lingo and knew the main part, the lace to be ivory.
I say buy it especially if the price is so great and it’s in your size unaltered!

She could be wearing a pink shirt when taking the photo and that’s reflecting back on the dress (or a pink wall, or something). I’d buy it and you can always re-sell it for the same amount if you decide against it.

it definitely looks light pink underneath to me
