kellyk7:  this is also a good point! Depending on who you have do alterations a lace hem like that gown could be upwards of $400-$500. If you need a hem you are certainly better off ordering with a custom length if you have the time.

kellyk7:  Casablanca offers a free Hollow-To-Hem…but remember you’d be paying full price for the dress.  It would be less expensive to purchase the one being sold and have it hemmed….could be anywhere from $100-$300, so still cheaper than buying new.

kellyk7:  I had this EXACT issue with my dress. I bought pre-owned and the ivory over champagne color was extremely misleading in photos but I trusted the seller and went for it. The sash detail in my gown specifically photographed blush pink even though in-person the sash was a light ivory color not pink AT ALL. Cell phone pictures especially skewed the champagne/ivory details to come up as pink. Don’t worry – it won’t look like that in person.

Here’s an example of how pink my ivory over champange gown showed up in a cell phone camera pic

I was fortunate that my dress and length fits me perfectly when I got it from Tradesy.  I do want to add, I think the lace hem isn’t too bad since the trim and the lace parts are actually appliques rather than one lace material so they can be lifted and moved.  From my experience with past tailoring, usually alterations just hem the front part leaving the back long rather than hem all the way around.

With that said, I might have my train cut off… I am not sure yet.  I just don’t want the hassle of the bustle and I am having my wedding in Australia and then another reception in the states.
