If it really is THE dress you don’t want to lose it. What timeframe are you talking for the engagement/marriage? Woud your SO understand if you explained why you bought it so early?

I’m not superstitious either. If you and your SO are on the exact same page and you’re pretty much just waiting for him to officially pop the question, GET IT! I know a few girls who have done that lol They had their whole wedding planned in 2 weeks after engagement because all they were waiting for was the official ring lol.

On the other hand, if you don’t have an open dialogue with your SO and aren’t sure if he IS proposing…obviously don’t get it haha.

Skurrrrrrrrt…just read your update! Definitely keep the pics and have it made once you’re officially engaged. I freakin love the beadwork and the back of the dress. It’s gorgeous 🙂

I’ll just say… you wouldn’t be the only unengaged girl with a dress. do what you gotta do, but i’d only buy it if it was a super good bargain

One of my female friends bought her dress before they were engaged. They ended up breaking up 9-10 times and getting back together. It has been 6 years since she bought the dress. The guy she bought it for is with someone else.

I’m not saying this will happen to you. It’s the only story I have. I don’t think ladies should buy their dresses until they have set a DATE. What if you have a 2 year engagement, your tastes/fashion changes, etc.

I think you should ask your SO. If he’s on the cusp of proposing he wil either say buy it and don’t tell your friends or he will say you only have to wait a little. If he seems uncomfortable AT ALL, don’t buy it.

@KatyElle:  There’s still time to change her mind since the dress hasn’t been resized yet. I wonder what her boyfriend would say.
