I bought the David’s Bridal Galina T3039 dress on Ebay, because I’ve always liked it in pics I saw and it was a freakin’ steal at about 75 bucks. When I got it, I liked it but I didn’t love the shape on me. Eventually I decided against it and put “find dress” back on my eventual to-do list. When browsing dresses, I found myself drawn to natural waist ballgowns that were strikingly similar to this dress I already had, except the waists were about 2 inches lower. Well I decided 2 inches was pretty easy to fix, and much better than getting a whole new dress. I snipped the bow off (my favorite part of the dress btw) and tried it on with a stiff obi belt I already had, which lowered the waist a bit. I was in love!! The pop of color and the shape change defined the waist more and it’s perfect now! Unless bright purple somehow becomes our wedding color, I’ll be making a different actual belt to wear, but I will look basically the same. Sorry the pic is so shitty, I only have my dumbphone for a camera and the only decent lighting is at my vanity, so all you get is the top half. Sorry!
