Oh man, I was about to go “Hmmm, there are lots of dresses you can get for less than 1k” For me, I just shopped online then went to a store. Your best bet would be either a prom dress that is not wedding-y, ebay, Craigslist or a saloon that is going out of business.

Yay! That’s awesome! I would call around to stores in your area and see if they sell samples. One store I went to had a $99 dress rack all year round, but others do it based on seasons.

As far as designers go, David’s Bridal, DaVinci, and even Alfred Angelo has some pretty but affordable options.

i was going to say David’s bridal as well, and something i considered once was getting a bridesmaid dress but in white!  BM dresses are typically in the $200 range. or check out netbride.com, they have a ton of designers and their prices are in the lower $100 range.  good luck!

oh, and definitely check out sites like preownedweddingdresses.com – you could end up with a fancy dress that has been worn for half the cost!

Oh my gosh I just want to give you a hug! How exciting. Definitely check out David’s Bridal 99 sale as PP mentioned. There are actually really nice dresses in there that get super discounted to make room for next season’s samples. You can post a looking add on here under classifieds with your size.

Or you can just tell us your size and style and we’ll use the power of google to help you look 🙂

YAY!!!  That’s awesome!!!  Check out Jeffliu8000 on ebay.  His gowns are GORGEOUS!!! and cheap.  Admittedly, you have to take measurements and he’ll customize the gown to you, but I’ve seen a lot of girls on here going to him and had GREAT results.  (That’s also where I’m getting mine! YAY!!! …unless I find one somewhere else, lol. I REALLY need to stop looking ’cause I’m WAY too indecisive!)

I’ve also see other really nice gowns on ebay for decent prices.  It all depends on what you call “cheap” and how much you/she wants to spend.

Alfred Angelo is having a great sale… under $600 more most of the sale rack and the dresses were beautiful
