…more cowbell!

Ha, just kidding! Ladies, I have the baby fever. Fiance and I are nowhere near that stage, though. So I have to get over it for now, and my solution is to watch my 6-year-old niece and 4-year-old nephew for the night. That seems to put my uterus on lockdown for a good two months.
But then what?? How do you ladies deal with baby fever?

haha I read this title and yelled out “Babies!!!!!”, then saw the picture and had to laugh, I watched that skit at the gym the other day and was laughing out loud on the treadmill.
I’m the last person to give advice on this one. Darling Husband and I let baby fever get the best of us and got pregnant a month after our wedding BUT I’ve been a little anxious thinking about the life Darling Husband and I will leave behind. If its hitting you hard, just think of all the things you’re able do to baby-free and really embrace those little luxuries. One example, I just realized last night that Darling Husband and I will never have had a Christmas to ourselves. This will be our first Christmas as a married couple where we’ll be together, but by then we’ll also be Mommy and Daddy (which will likely make it even more exciting but still.) Also… all our travel plans have officially gone out the window for the time being.
Oh, and you may or may not end up with a stomach that looks like this:

- Wedding: June 2015 - Garden of the Gods
I just think of all of the things I will miss once the children start arriving…
Seeing new parts of the world
Quiet reading time
Buying new music, clothing, etc. at leisure
Sleeping in
Date nights without worrying about a dropped baby
I also consider how waiting 4 years (yeah…a long time I know)…is going to make life so much better for my kids. We won’t have nearly the debt we do now. They’ll have so many benefits because of the opportunities they’ll have…a college fund, even a marriage fund! π We might be able to take family vacations once they’re old enough because we’ll be better positioned in our jobs. We wouldn’t be able to offer that now.
I have all of the time in the world right now to start my own business, paint a picture when I feel inspired, and listen to my music on high volume. I’m going to relish it for the next 4 years until we start TTC…then I know I’ll REALLY be ready because life changes forever once that seed is planted! It doesn’t take much more than that for me to keep the fever down. >;)

I clicked on this post because I wanted more COWBELL.
And I got it!!!
I have no good advice for you because I am not dealing well with the baby fever. I’m off my BC right now (personal reasons) and just last night my Fiance said “I think you went off the BC because you want to get pregnant!”
Heh…. π

@Bubu82: Honestly, the only thing that has really helped with my baby fever (and not very well I might add) is looking at birthing videos…. you know, the really really gross ones.
Yeah….that would scare anyone away, unless you have the super baby rabies (like me) then that only works for about a day. π
@TinyTina: now why would he say such a thing

babies rabies it highly contagious! i suggest avoiding others suffering from it, those who are pregnant, and those with babies. try to spend time with baby haters;)
we are only waiting until the wedding (well, not quite, but close enough where it won’t be visible if it happens right away, hehe), and it’s HARD! my bff is planning on trying a few months earlier, & i totally get jealous that she gets a head start! not in a mean way, i hope she gets knocked up asap, haha, i just wish i could too! for now, Fiance & i are doing our reading, looking into hospitals/drs/midwives, & enjoying some things before giving them up! hell, i ate a hot dog the other day just because they shouldn’t be eaten by ppl ttc or preg (really, no one should probably be eating them!) Fiance pointed out that the last time we had hot dogs was 2 fourth of julys ago and that he doesn’t think giving them up will be hard for me, lol! so i guess, for us, we try to allow the babies rabies to go into remission. then, when there is a flair up, we read, plan, etc. good luck!

@forforever:lol!!! That is one sexy belly!
Good tips, ladies – thanks! I think that focusing on all the things I can do now that would go out the window (or be done very rarely) is probably the best thing for me to do. Know what I’d miss most? Sleeping in! Something so basic, but probably not something you can do all that much when you have little ones.

Whenever I have baby fever I google/shop for baby things we’ll need. 11K HOW much for the 1st year and medical expenses??! no thank you. Also I don’t have maternity/pregnancy insurance currently. Then look at your bank account. that’ll do it for a while!
OR. to really get rid of baby fever. Look at the stats for getting things like downs, medical disabilities etc. Even somethings more common like clef palate or jaundice are terrible to go through.

I have some baby fever, and we are NTNTC, but I was in a delivery the other day that made me want to renew my BC prescription. This lady was so out of control in pain that she was kicking nurses (me included – I got kicked in the boob). The next delivery I went to the lady tore so bad that I could hear the tearing … let me tell you, that will cure you for a while!

Don’t hate on my dream husband’s belly! π Did you hear they’re thinking of bringing in Will Ferrel in place of Scott Carell for the Office?! Sorry, didn’t want to threadjack but I freaking LOVE Will Ferrel.

Love the title of this thread–totally first thought about cowbell haha and then babies. I’ve gotten baby fever quite a few times recently. But I always just think of the two Fs–finances and freedom and that usually makes the fever cool down. But regardless, I so can’t wait to be a mom when the time comes π
@firsttimemom: mini-threadjack continuance–I would LOVE if Will Ferrell joined The Office. Love that show and him!

Never seen the clip, but when I read the title, I was wondering what the OP was able to be precribed for a fever being pregnant and all… Can you tell I had a cold recently and was worried about what meds I could take?LOL
