cls9q:  Just curious! It seems funny to me that there are different grading systems. It would be much easier to just have one international standard haha! Like building codes, or safety standards, you know?

MrsBuesleBee:  I was thinking the same thing.. How sad for both of them. Although, I must say.. I’m baffled why OP cares so much about SomedayHisBrides pending engagement.

the ring is a symbol of lifelong commitment to a person. the size and clarity do not matter – i repeat, do not matter. starting shallow and meaningless catfights on a wedding forum over what you ring looks like, where it is from, how big it is, only saps it of its value as a meaningful gift from your forever partner, that i presume he gave (or is planning to give) you as a sign that he plans to dedicate his entire life to you.

stop it.

MrsBuesleBee:  Exactly. Yikes WHAT is happening to the bee? I’ve always heard The Knot is worse but idk. If we’re all mature enough here to be getting married, should we really be having cat fights over diamonds? Cuz, really, it’s just a stone, as in, we’re all supposed to be here discussing the happiest day of our lives (the day we get to marry the MAN we love) not arguing over a cold stone. No matter how pretty the stone is, it’s just a piece of rock. And if someone cares to argue that, go right ahead. You can’t really come out of that argument without looking extremely materialistic. It just irks me to see petty fights going on when some people in other countries are starving to death and probably don’t even know what a diamond is. Yeah, I understand this is the internet, and people will fight over things. But I just like to look at the bigger picture.

KC-2722:  indeed.

I for one will smile the day SHB gets her dream ring. That’s true of every soon to be bride around here regardless of the stupid digits attached to their ring.

And since picking on SHB is a pastime around here (although she certainly provoked the OP) – she’s gotten so much heat for that damn future ring. It’s stupid. Luxury jewelz are a perk of dating a wealthy person. WhoTF cares. Doesn’t make anyones ring or engagement any more speshul than a kays/costco/shubach/etsy whatever ring.

cls9q:  I was actually kind of leaning towards defending you and saying she was wrong for calling you out on your own thread… But whatever. Sorry for ruining your “fun” of being attacked by someone who doesn’t even have their ring yet.

cls9q:  Maybe you should just close the thread. Obviously people are rude.
