This has been the major source of stress for me for the last couple of weeks.
Ever since we got engaged we had our hearts set on getting married on my university’s grounds – when I was going through the process of booking it I found out that they are doing construction near where we wanted the ceremony and wouldn’t book any ceremonies….*tear*
So this was a big blow and we kinda stopped looking for a bit! About 2 weeks ago we got our heart set on a public rose garden in our city – called the next business day… it was already booked…*tear*
So now I am freaking out that everything is going to be booked up and we are going to have to have the ceremony in the banquet hall (which is what we didn’t want – we really wanted an outdoor ceremony)! Why does everything relating to weddings book up YEARS in advance!!!
So the next day we went and visited two other possible ceremony locations. One was a gorgeous park that is better than the University and the rose gardens (but we tried not to get our hopes up) and one was at a pioneer village (nice but a little too rustic for us)! So immediately I tried to see if the park was open for our date…. the lady was unavailable… so I was a pain and I called everyday… Finally today when I called I found it was free for my date and I booked it – YAY!!!!!
I am so relieved that I am now having a ceremony in the location of my dreams!!!
i have attached a pic that I sent to my BMs (they are all live out of town) – Ignore my bad stick figures

I know what you mean about everything weddings being booked years in advance. I just got engaged and we aren’t getting married for 22 months so I thought I would casually look at sites. My alma mater’s chapel is booked 7 years in advance and so my second choice location I thought I better call just to see. I called on a Friday and they only had 3 dates for all of 2011 left. I went on Monday to see the venue and guess what they only had 1 date left. It was the date I had wanted so I just booked it without even asking my Fiance because OMG we would end up in a fire hall.
Your site is gorgeous though – so happy for you

Beautiful. We Arizonans have to forego our dreams about green grass unless we get married at a golf course:-) Hope you have the same luck with the rest of your planning!
