I bought my dress on Saturday! Yay! My mom and sister (MOH) came to my appointment friday and while I was 99% sure then I didn’t want to make a final decision. My mom was leaving the next night for a vacation to Italy so I’m glad she was there for the shopping. We talked before she left and I planned to go back and purchase. I invited my closest friend and Bridesmaid or Best Man to come to the store sat to see and purchase, and my Future Mother-In-Law too, who I love…hooowwever, I was nervous bringing her because It’s not a super traditional dress..and of course, she was like ” I always pictured you in all lace”. Which I did myself too..until I tried a bunch on and didn’t get that feeling. Anyways..she wanted me to wear something like the dress in the background! so I tried my dress on with her there and while I think she likkeed it, I’m not sure she loved it! But I did get tears from her when I put on a veil!
So…I’m a tinnny bit anxious about the choice I made..but still love it! So..I’m just going to relax and meditate and stop trying to please everyone in my life for once! 😉
Without further ado..here it is! The San Patrick Calais! (the sample is four sizes too small! Eeek!).
We are having a woodsy wedding in the forest next to a creek, followed by a reception at an entirely eco-friendly and off the grid lodge, with moss and tree themed..complete with a canoe for the wedding gift receptacle! Can’t wait!!!!!
Any thoughts on sash/not to sash? I will try some one once it’s the right size..nothing too blingy for sure.
I am also looking for a cool statement necklace for the reception..maybe something greenish? Woodsy? Our wedding bands are tulip wood and titanium…LOVE! And my engagement ring is antique art deco from the 1920s…
anyways..i’m rambling..just realizing how excited i actually am after being so anxious after purchasing sat!

ETA: Gah, I’m so stupid, didn’t read the rest of your thread. I’d definitely recommend a sash 🙂

No opinion on the sash or necklace, but I think the dress is PERFECT for the venue you’ve described!!

I agree that the dress is perfect for your venue and setting, and it looks stunning on you! I don’t think you need a sash, it might take away from the detailing on the skirt.

The bottom is SO unique, and it matches your theme perfectly! Make sure you check etsy for jewelry, they’ll definitely have the kind of stuff you’re describing.

My favorite San Patrick skirt of any of their dresses! Yes, yes, yes! 😀 Stunning.

It’s beautiful and perfect for your theme! My first instinct is to say yes to the sash, but I would have to see it before I would feel confident in that. I would look for a belt/sash that was somewhat woodsy and continued the theme. Vine inspired maybe?
