I finally decided to just go ahead and buy myself a ring. I was going to wait, but after seeing the three stone sapphire ring I had been considering on a fabuous deal for Black Friday, I went ahead and bought it. I called and asked hubby first, who said yes, then after I got home, he claimed he was too groggy to remember saying that. We argued for 2 + hours, I cried, he yelled. I was going to return it, when he admitted to being selfish, and stupid. He told me if I really liked it, I could keep it, and that he was still going to also get me a Christmas present. (i had told him, it could be my Christmas present) He said that he was just being petty because it bugs him when I pick out my own jewelry. He says it hurts his feelings if he doesn’t get to surprise me. I told him that I thought he was being a control freak, and wanted to pick out something I wanted for once. He said that was fine under one condition, for Valentines Day, he gets to surprise me with a different piece of jewelry. Of course I agreed, what girl doesn’t love bling?! He agreed to be more reasonable, and quit spending so much time and money on himself, and to consider me more. I guess that little devotion we got at Thanksgiving really woke him up! LOL! Anyways, I am very glad I got some advice from you all one here, it really helped me stand up to him finally, and made him wake up some too I think.

That’s great! Sorry ya’ll had to go through a little spat before he apologized about the whole thing. I’m glad you got what you wanted, you deserve it. It’s good he came to his senses on how much he spends on himself when you don’t get to and also awesome that you’ll get another piece of jewelry soon enough!

I got is as a right hand/anniversary/mommy ring. 🙂 My wedding set is yellow gold, but I wear white gold everything else. I wanted something to kind of blend everything together. The ring is actually palladium plated sterling silver, with yellow gold plating and the large stones are white sapphires. The smaller stones are diamonds. It is about the equivalent of a 1 carat ring as far as the size and look of it. 🙂 I was looking for diamonds and yellow gold, but could not find anything yellow gold that wasn’t “old lady” looking. (no offence to anyone!) The sapphires have a totally unique fire to them, a sort of steely blue fire. It’s awesome in the sun. I got the life time warranty too, so I can get the yellow gold re-plated every 6 months, and the silver dipped then as well to keep it nice looking. I LOVE it! It is everything I was looking for with the exception of it being sterling silver instead of white gold. However, for the price, I am defintely not complaining.

I’m glad everything worked out in the end!! Sounds like he’s coming around. Love how the gold and white gold was incorporated in the ring!
