OMG!!! 13 years ago, I signed up to be on the National Bone Marrow Donation Registry. I just got a call informing me that I am a match for a 12 year old boy. With my consent, they will now do some further testing on some of the cells I donated when I was 18 to see if I am the best match for this child. I cannot explain how excited and thrilled I am to potentially be able to help save another person’s life. I can’t wait to find out! : )

That’s great news for the little boy. I hope you’re a match. Good on you. I’ve got a rare blood type (O-) that is also compatible with every other blood type and I feel so good to be able to give back when I donate.

How neat! Anytime I get one of their newsletter emails I get all excited thinking it’s a notification that I’m a match…no dice. I’ve only been on the registry for a few months, though.

That’s so awesome!!
Would you (or anyone) mind explaining the process how you got involved in this, in layman’s terms? I’ve looked up websites about it but I’m still a bit confused.
I hope you’re a match for this boy 🙂

Fantastic! Hope it works out. I got a call a few years ago that I was a potential match, but the man ended up being too ill to proceed with a transplant. 🙁
