Holy Moly!  My advice to you….eat before you go to the wedding.  Sounds like they won’t even serve food at their wedding.  haha

Wow that is so rude.  Saying they will throw away your present?  Makes me not want to give them anything.

Can you scan an image of the rest of this invite? I’d like to see how ‘classy’ the rest of it was…seriously!

@SoontobeMrsA:  I second the check to Goodwill!  Attend the wedding and include bring the check to put in the box.  I would pay money to see them open it!

The only excuse for being that incredibly rude is by being incredibly stupid.

I would not attend the wedding. And i’d re-eval the friendship. Do you really want to be friends with someone like that? Yuck.

Wow. To be honest though I am not surprised. I recieved a similar invite a few weeks ago that read, “No registry has been created. Monetary gifts will be accepted.” I couldn’t believe it!

Actually, I change my mind. Attend the wedding, write her a check for $1.

no… theres no NO way that she expects people to comply with that!

I’d actually call and explain how terribly wrong she went by doing that. Someone should let her know why her guests will be so displeased with her!

I’d put a $1,000 check in a gift box, stop payment on the check and tell her sorry, I thought you were throwing it away.  It’s insane!

Seriously? I cant believe someone would actually have the nerve to say something like that. And to say that any other gifts will be THROWN away or donated? Thats just mean and totally selfish. I would either not go, or go and not be “generous”
