Whoa that is rude! I wouldn’t show up with a thing!!! I would just eat the food, drink the drinks, and leave. Or drop off a nice $1 gift. How rude!

I’d comply with her request. I’d get her a nice big box of impeccably gift wrapped pennies.

@KatNYC2011: Hahahaaha! Oh wow. I had the same thought in mind. That or tape two pennies to a folded piece of paper, and write a little note, “Just giving my $0.02 on how tacky your invite was.” Just wow. That is tacky! I’d call that being pretty darn ungreatful because if you want money or speific items just put out there, ‘there is a registry at such and such if you are coming short on ideas’ or something to that affect.

I want to meet these people, then maybe bitch slap them. It’s hilarious and sad at the same time.

Doesn’t she realize that by writing that, people are more likely to be less generous than if she had sent a normal invitation?  What a nightmare!  I’d go and give her $5.  Efff that.

I’m on team Goodwill Donation.  I’m not sure whether I find the “gift boxes will be thrown away” or “Please be generous” more offensive…   I’m not against telling people that you’d prefer cards or things that can fit in a card, but there is a way to word it and that invite fails miserably!

I mean, I can get if they don’t have the space for gifts bigger then would fit in a card – I was in that position myself – but to say you’d throw any boxed gifts away… AND to ask people for cash with the added “Please be generous”.  OMG!  What were they thinking?!  That just plain and simply comes off as rude and greedy with no other interpretation.

WOWZA

If you’re not close to her and she dosn’t mean anything to you, I’d totally be snotty and say something the many lovely bees have suggested, you’ll lose a bitch friend, so what?

take a pic of the whole invite…I’m having a hard time believing this is real and someone didn’t just print that line at the bottom of a piece of cardstock.

I just can not believe that any woman (classy or not) would think this is okay…it’s seems made up to me.

Can you post a picture of the whole invitation?  I’m having a very hard time believing this is real and wasn’t made up….it looks like that line was just printed at the bottom of a piece of cardstock….anyone can do that.

I don’t believe that ANY woman (classy or not) would think it’s okay to tell someone that their gifts would be thrown in the trash… this just seems made up to me….it’s funny, shocking, but not real.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an invite last year that I thought was the worst and this beats that by far. The one I got last year said  Registry: Your nearest ATM– mind you that was actually printed on the invite. WTF
