@Amaryllis: Yeah I know.  I was just…you know…trying to see possibly another perspective.  Maybe that girl just has a really bad sense of humor.  It’s too terrible to even believe LOL.

@Amaryllis: Really.  2nd paragraph slightly unnecessary.

Ugh. Yeah, I’d pass on that wedding. I can’t believe some people have the gall to do things like that.

Oh my goodness! I can’t believe someone would put that on their invitation! I’m not even putting where I’m registered on my save-the-dates. I’m just putting it on my wedding website which will be included on my save-the-dates. Wow… I wouldn’t want to go to someone’s wedding who said that. What happened to being considerate?

Yep, my husbands friend’s invite wasn’t that outright rude, but they stated:

“Do not bring gifts to the wedding, the couple requests that all gifts are mailed to their home.”

We later learned that they ended up returning all the gifts and bought a new sofa & this is after everyone had to go out of their way to mail their gift and pay shipping even though we all live in the same city.

LOLOL. Hell, my mom taught me better than that. I would never have put that on my invite, even w/o learning etiquette from the bee. “Please be generous.” Awful.

@heather25: Should I have posted it in a moissy thread instead? It is relevant to the discussion — same principle as what crystalrodz had suggested. And I very clearly said that it is the exception not the rule.

facepalm.

The only thing that could have made that invite worse is just saying

@Tswife4ever: This would make me seriously evaluate my friendship with someone who thought this was okay.
