@sara_tiara:  I’ve wondered that too!  I mean, I’m sure they are all disappointed in my hot 6 pins that are all wedding hair ideas.

I cannot for the life of me see the appeal in Twitter.

And I just turned 25.

Lol I used to have a Twitter that I used all the time and I would follow celebs and a few friends that had Twitter (my sister is still heavily into it and because of it she blogs for a fashion website and has a lot of “connections”). I stopped because it was so hard to keep up on all of the tweets and I didn’t want to miss out on anything! I stopped around this time last year when I turned 21 after I got some cool birthday tweets from some celebrities.

As far as the lingo you sort of start picking up on it once you get one. It’s still confusing for me, but it was WAY more confusing when I started using it. The site isn’t super easy to navigate around, so even if you understand what people are saying, the site itself is still a little tricky.

@DeadlyNightshade:  Same here. I’m 23 and see no use for it.

I’m sick of seeing the hashtags everywhere too. They serve no purpose in facebook posts or anywhere else… The people I see using the hashtags on my facebook friends list seem to be the ones with non-stop spelling errors as well. It drives me crazy.

Frankly, I just don’t give a da_ _ what you are having for lunch! or what celebrity you saw!

I have a Twitter account for business, but frankly I never use it. I don’t get it either. I have nothing interesting to say!!

@Linz1231:  Hashtags on Facebook are pretty pointless, but some people link their Twitter and Facebook accounts so that when they post a tweet, it posts as their Facebok status as well… hashtags and all.

@Regina Phalange:  That explains a lot. I would find that so irritating if I had twitter.

I don’t understand it either…I didn’t know what the word hashtag was until a couple months ago….I said to my Fiance, “Why do they always put the number symbol at the end of everything?” He laughed his butt off haha he was like ummm it’s called a hashtag!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashtag  Is a good of explaination as any.

Short answer:  Basically it’s a text way of indicating a key word/topic/etc.  Believed to originate in IRC (internet relay chat… basically a chat room from the old mostly text days) which has been around about 20 years.  That I remember using IRCs as a main form of internet communitcation makes ME feel old.  There are still some active IRCs :).  To use one you need an IRC client.

I know what it is, but I don’t particularly like it. I’m a bit anal about my grammar and spelling.

@DeadlyNightshade:  Same here.  I’m 25 and find Twitter silly (note: I’ve never had an account).
