Enough was enough. My hair just had to go! I was sick of having to take care of extremely damaged hair no matter how long it was. I watched a lot of videos and blogs of women in my situation.
Here’s the skinny:
As an African American you are literally “defined” by your hair. The longer and the thicker —the better. Its such a high standard to live by. Thats why so many women damage their hair with extensions and braiding until it starts to bald or fall out.
I also started to notice that I was getting psoriasis on my scalp from using chemical permanent relaxers….not good.
It was time for a change…. AND I MADE IT! What do you think??

i was wondering why your hair was so smooth in one pic and curly in the other – that sounds expensive and damaging. the new look looks so fresh and sassy

Oh, love it! You just look so cool with natural hair. You look like some girl who lives in New York and has a better fashion sense than I do and who makes me jealous of her life.

I love it! You have such amazing bone structure, and short hair really shows it off.

@eloping: not expensive….about $60 to get down in the shop….once every 6 weeks. it can be very damaging and painful if not done by a perfessional but many AA women perm/relaz thier hair to make it look more “european”
