My grandpa died last year of multiple sclerosis and we will be honoring him at the wedding with a memorial table and his favorite flowers with a framed poem. I got this great idea last week to use RED (our colors) MS awareness bracelets as favors for the guests, since the proceeds go to MS research. That would have been an awesome idea IF the bracelets were still red. Unfortunately, the color has been changed and they are now ORANGE!! I still kind of like the idea of getting the bracelets just because what it would represent, but orange isn’t in our color scheme (red and white w/ silver accents) so it might look funny to have red and white everything and then orange bracelets. I even thought of putting them in red mesh bags. What are your thoughts? Any ideas?

Hmmm… first, let me say that is an incredible idea!
The mesh bags may work, or you could put all the bracelets together in a red basket or bowl with a sign explaining what they’re for and recognizing your grandpa. A lot of weddings I’ve seen place the favors in a group rather than at each seat, so that may minimize the "orange" factor.
I think you should go with this idea, no matter the color!

You could always just print out notes letting people know that you’ve made a donation in their honor to the MS foundation and forget about the bracelets altogether. I think they were a great idea when they were in your color scheme, but now that they’re not, it makes more sense just to make the donation and make people aware. I don’t think they’ll mind not getting the bracelet and I think they’ll like the donation being made, especially if you add a note about your grandfather. If you really want to give people something, you could attach the note to a piece of wrapped candy.

Can you call the company who makes the bracelets to see if they have leftover stock in red? Depending on when they made the switch to orange, they might have enough on hand.

Thanks for all your ideas! I’ll definitely look into calling the company first and maybe they have left overs!
