I went to a wedding this weekend where they gave out heart wine stoppers. We were going to go the delicious cookie route, but I’m loving this wine stopper. I’ve already used it & everytime I use it in the future I’m going to think about their wedding! 🙂
The younger crowd was stoked to get these as a favor, but a lot of older guests were confused. They were SCARED to take the stoppers because they thought they belonged to the venue! It took a lot of convincing to get these people to take the gift home, the bride actually made an announcement to ease their minds. lol
Gone are the days of Jordan almonds & tulle.
So what have you decided to give as your favor?

That’s a great favor idea. I only have a couple wine stoppers and could always use another!

Um … I did Jordan almonds and tulle! Okay, I liked the classic feel of that but also made a local kind of candy.
I got a wine stopper at a wedding once, and I liked it. I typically only use it for short timeframes, though, I don’t trust it to keep my wine!

OOO what a great idea! My favorite was a six pack of godiva chocolates 🙂

I’m only doing photbooth photos as favors! I love the wine stopper idea. We considered giving miniature bottles of liquor out, but knowing our guests, they’d drink em before the wedding was through!

@Mary-alice: I just wrote that because it seems like that’s what some of the guests were expecting! They were so confused… They were like “I can’t take this!” and I SWEAR they were scanning for their candy instead 🙂
When we first started wedding planning my Fiance asked about Jordan Almonds– I was like, I can’t stand them, we aren’t giving them as favors! He was like “Those are favors? I thought they were just to eat while waiting for dinner” lol.

My dream is to have nests (like birds nests) with blue jordan almonds inside! I know … I know. I am giving out Godiva couture cakes.

I’m having a cookie buffet, and I’m totally ok with that. I would love to do the wine stopper idea because I’m a big wine drinker, but no one on my mom’s side of the family drinks! So I think those gifts might be a waste at my wedding 🙁

- Wedding: June 2010 - Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!
That’s a really great favor idea. I think we’re still going with just the photobooth, but maybe if I feel extra generous, I’ll add this on. :p

We’re having a garden-y theme with gerbera daisies as our main flower, so we’re planning on doing daisy-shaped cookies as favors :o)

We’re doing the wine stoppers for my daughter’s wedding next May. Ours have champagne bottles on top. Glad to hear people like them!

That’s the same favor I want to get! I’d love that as a gift under any circumstance! And, I think even for those that don’t drink wine, there’s a chance that they’ll have guests who bring wine, which they’ll have to open and they can use the favor even though they didn’t think they would. Now, finding the nicest, and least expensive one, that’s the issue. Let me know if you find them!
