I really hate admitting I’m wrong. BUT….
I had posted the other day about wanting to see pictures of colored wedding dresses, and hear about the experiences/feelings of people who wore colored dresses.
In true weddingbee fashion, I got a few nay-saying posts telling me I absolutely HAD to try on wedding dresses (which I always planned on doing anyways), but I was pretty convinced I wouldn’t like anything I tried on…
BOY WAS I WRONG.
I fell in love with the first dress I tried on. I still of course tried on more, but kept feeling the love for the first one. Fiance (who came with me since we aren’t traditional) also was absolutely in love with the first dress. So despite it being a bit more than I wanted to spend we both agreed it was THE dress. I didn’t have the money to buy it that day (since I didn’t plan on buying a dress, just checking some out) and my wonderful Fiance bought the dress for me! 🙂
So here it is:
I still plan on wearing a colored (purple) cardigan, despite some objections, because strapless and all white still isn’t me. BUT I do love this dress, and I came close to tears when I put it on and we decided it’s the one. It’s just SO me, and Fiance looked so excited and happy when he saw me in it!

ALSO I don’t plan on wearing a black sash, but a purple one over the cardigan, but the consultant put it on me to give me an idea of where it would go and how it would look.

I think the pruple accessories will give you just the right pop of color. FWIW, I wore a black bolero with my wedding dress. Some of us just need that modern twist. 😉

MissPhish: It’s beautiful and it looks amazing on you! I also had color accents on my dress!
If it were me, I would have them raise the waistband so the sash goes over the seam (or lower the sash to where the waistband sits) just so it doesn’t look like the sash slipped up above where it’s supposed to be 🙂

ahhh I thought this might happen!!! You look wonderful! I actaully really love hte idea of a purple cardi with it. Just make sure it’s not too long and ends right where the skirt starts. I think that would be perfect!
You could also attach pretyy lace straps and use the cardi in some but not all photos. That could also look really pretty.

totally loving the pop of color. It isn’t for everyone but I pretty much had the same thing as you – always said I was having plain white and them fell in love when it was on me!

MissPhish: Haha, I could have written this myself! I also wanted a colored dress, but tried on wedding dresses just in case, and ended up buying a white dress. And I’m also wearing a purple cardigan! Lmao.
