Do not shop at the Davids bridal in tupelo ms. I hope it’s just this location that treats customers the way they do. I have been in this store 4 times. Each time, I had an appt, each time, (and it wasn’t all on Saturday’s) they never spoke, never asked if they could help, and never asked if I needed a fitting room for the piles of dresses I had in my hand. I bought my dress somewhere else after I was completely ignored on my first visit. I have bridesmaids who are struggling financially and thought I’d try them again. 3 more trips of being ignored… And trust me, I’m not the shy, stand in the back and look pitiful type. You have to try not to see or hear me. Yesterday was my last trip. My sister and i had an appt for 11, right when they open. We were at the door before they opened, a line of like 4 ppl behind us. We walked in first, and each consultant latched on to the other 4 customers behind us. We stood at their little table, no one ever asked us “do u have an appt” or “can I help you” so after 15 minutes, we went to the racks. We pulled dresses, asked the lady behind the register if we could get a fitting room. She wasn’t with a customer but said ” oh there’s someone over there who can help”. We walked “over there” and stood. 2 consultants were standing in the aisle helping a group of bms. They looked at us and turned around back to their group. I jumped up on the stage, opened a door, and put my sister in there. I opened all the drawers to their little accessories station and grabbed a bunch of clips. I made sure they saw us. I said loudly, “if u need help I’m here, and maybe someone else can help too.” nope, we tried on 5 dresses, and actually liked 2 of them. I asked another lady if she could help us identify the fabric, and she said “oh the lady up there can.” that lady was a customer. So…. We put the dresses on the counter and left. I have never been so angry in my life. None of the other girls had appts. I know this because I asked.
Also, how do I file a complaint? Just on this location. Their website requires you enter the store number on your receipt but I do not have a receipt because no one bothered to acknowledge mine and my sisters existence. And my sister looked hot in those 2 dresses, so it’s a crying shame.

I had the same sort of experience when I’ve visitied David’s Bridal shops. I ended up ordering my dress online from them, even though I hated to. I don’t think chain stores teach customer service anymore. It’s sad, not to mention frustrating. You should never feel like you have to beg someone to take your money.

u can identify the store number on the website.. just look at the address and the store number should be on top.

Rate them a one star on Yelp! and write about your experiences. That super sucks, I bought my first dress from DB and they were, um, pushy trying to make a sale. They were weird about me ordering another dress from another store cause the one they had on the floor had snags.

Thank you! I just spilled my guts out to them. Probably won’t help but I feel a bit better.

I don’t think corporate really cares about the level of service. They know people will keep coming there no matter how they are treated, so they dont seem to insist on consistency. Some people like DB, plenty hate them.
You were ignored three times prior and still went back for a fourth visit? I bet that would happen with any other store.

Im way in TX and they treat you the same way. They act like if you dont look like money then they wont bother with you. I NEVER wanted a Davids bridal wedding dress for the simple fact that it will LOOK like a Davids Bridal dress. About every wedding Ive attended just by looking at the dress I automatically know where they got it from because of what it looked like and most of the brides, who do not know of each other, end up having the SAME dresses. I love to be different! We have very limited selection of stores down here so you would have to travel to a bigger city to get more of what you are looking for. I actually traveled 45 mins away to find my dress at a boutique. Im thinking about getting my bridesmaid dresses from there once again because other bridal stores are expensive and their selections are limited and I have bridesmaids of all different sizes, 4 of the 6 are plus sized. I plan on keeping my options open though.

The one in Fayetteville NC is that way too!

@lindseyl06: they look like a Davids Bridal dress, just like the way a Maggie Sottero dress looks like a Maggie Sottero dress, and Kenneth Pool dresses look like Kenneth Pool made them..I also can look at many dresses and tell instantly who makes them…I don’t consider it a flaw in the dress that you can see the designers print..I think the OP was referring to the horrible service she received, not that the wedding dresses weren’t good enough for her.
By The Way, op there is an email which I believe is [email protected], I have emailed them to ask questions about ordering, I am sure you can send them a letter about your lousy experience.

I had a terrible experience there too. My mom and I happened to be in the area so we stopped in, we had no appointment but they said someone could help us in 45 minutes because they were busy. There were 3-4 employees just standing there chatting or on their phones the whole time we waited. Ridiculous. Also they sell your info so you get a million calls and emails afterwards.

Was not impressed with my experience there either. The sales consultant had no idea what she was doing (not exactly trained in bridal fashion) and she didn’t bother to actually listen to what I wanted. I did get acknowledged, but I also went to a smaller store later at night on a weekday. She was just not helpful and it made me really bitter about the whole place.

@lindseyl06: I know what you meen by this. For me its the normal collection doesnt have the finishing I expect in a gown. I dont like zippers exposed and I am picky on fabric. The designer stuff seems much better.
Im really scared of going to davids bridal. Im planning on going in to shop for head pieces when Im near there new store in Ottawa in May.

THANK YOU for writing this. I went to DB first and had bad experience (not as bad as yours). I marked all the dresses FAVORITES online, not only did they not notify the consultant in advance, I had to tell them myself I marked some dresses and they don’t even have a good system. She end up making me login to my account on their computer and print the internet page for her to look up. Professional, right? Not surprising, none of the styles are in store. NONE. Nothing even close. So okay I picked some dresses (the consultant is pretty much useless, as she can’t suggest anything, or anything good so to speak). At the end she also picked a designer gown for me (which is way over my budget). She made me try on the most expensive one first, then keep telling me how good it looks on me like the best dress on earth. I told her I don’t like it and we tried on second one, as I liked the second one better, she said also the same thing like this is the best dress ever.
After trying out a couple dresses, she realized I didn’t like any of the dresses and started to push us into considering one. Meanwhile, she started to serve ANOTHER GROUP of BM/Bride and ignore us completely. I was standing there for a while with the gown on and wait for her so that I can take off my gown! She was so unfriendly when I told her I don’t want to buy today.
And then I purposedly try a second time 25 miles away from this store to another DB with my friend.
This mean lady from first tryout keep calling me afterwards to tell me to come back for second appt. I never did.

@Miss Sardine: I am well aware that a Davids Bridal dress would in fact actually look like a Davids Bridal dress. I dont want to wear a dress that someone would automatically know where they got that from therefore, hinting of me wanting to be “different.” In addition to David’s Bridal dresses not being “my” taste, they have lousy customer service.
@naturalysam: Thank you for understanding exactly where I am coming from.

@lindseyl06: I know what you mean. I didn’t even go to DB because I wanted something different… more unique. Like you said, it seems like a LOT of people end up with the same dress. Not that I don’t expect ANYONE else to have my dress because I went elsewhere, but probably not as many as with a popular DB dress.
That being said, one of my best friends got her dress at the DB here & I went with her. The customer service was awesome & her consultant was very helpful. They weren’t too busy because I think it was a weekday. OP, I’m sorry that you had such a bad experience at your local DB.. definitely make sure to review them wherever you can.
