Can I just say after months of nightmares about my dress not fitting, they turn out to be true? Not only does my own wedding gown need to be altered, but my bridesmaid dress for my friend’s August wedding as well. I thought I was doing SOOOO well with WeightWatchers and had lost 30lbs already, but I just don’t think another 20-40lbs will fit me into these dresses.
I’m 6′ tall and a street size 28, so who knows where I’ll lose the next amount of weight from. My cup size went down so the very top parts fit, but not the waist on either one. My wedding gown is easy enough–I’ll just get a corset put in (which I wanted to do anyway for aesthetic reasons), but I am drawing a blank with this bridesmaid dress. There isn’t much material in the seams to let out and I’m too tall to have any fabric cut off from the bottom.
I just I just felt like ranting a little. I’ve been trying so hard to lose weight and it was embarassing enough having to order the largest size plus extra length on the bridesmaid dress, I’m by far the largest girl in my friend’s wedding. But this is just like an extra blow to my confidence. Not even FI can cheer me up–I don’t feel like much of a bride OR a bridesmaid right now… just a blob.
Anyone have any easy alteration ideas?
