I need something to do for the next oh… I dunno 4 months, as my finance has begun his addiction and obession to Fantasy Football. I seriously hate it…. I need a hobby to occupy myself … He says that it’s something his really enjoys.. but makes me miserable becuase all he does is sits on his computer watching one game, another on his iphone and then another on the tv ( not exaggerating)… All day Sundays, Monday and Thursday… and gets mad at me if I want to watch something other than a football game I could care less about……and want to do fun stuff…..
Help me!! I feel this football season is gonna be a bigger annoyance than last year (he’s in like 5 leagues)….
We lived in a different state than all our family and my friends are so I can’t just leave and go hang out… I hate it…
Sorry for my rant.. but are there any other girls out there that have to deal with this every football season????

Ahhh I agree!! Haha I get the computer now, because Fiance has a fantasy draft later. GRRR I guess I can’t complain though because he is probably wondering “What the heck is she doing on this stupid wedding blog all day?!”

I just went to my first fantasy football draft pick .A keg plus 18 rounds of picks turned into one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed…
I have no advice, but thank you for sharing your disdain..
This will be the first year my Fiance participates…I am sure I will hate it as well

Oh jeez my ex was in like 4 FF leagues every year and it was the WORST. I love watching football, and the computer out and the demand for silence and the refusing to go watch a game anywhere but in front of the laptop…so annoying. ONCE we went to watch a game with his friends and they ALL had the laptops out and the girlfriends were just sitting there staring at the screen in silence…shudder.
I feel your pain. I found that drinking helped a little.
My SO now is a crazy Eagles fan, and feels the need to scream and jump about when he watches them, but at least that’s entertaining haha.
Seriously, though, the best way to deal with it is to figure out a way to use that time for yourself. Weekly relaxing bubble baths on Monday nights? Learning how to do something you’ve always wanted to learn how to do? Good luck girl.

I actually have my own team 🙁 DH has 2.
I <3 football! Have you tried actually getting interested in something that he enjoys so much? It’s actually a ton of fun.

Why not try signing up for a league? Its a lot of fun! (Be glad he doesn’t like college football too)

As I write this, Fiance is sitting on the couch with me “drafting” players for one of his 3 fantasy football leagues. Now, let me say I am actually a big football fan (Carolina Panthers! Yes, even after last season…) but I’m not up to FI’s level. And the fantasy football!? We’ve had fights over the amount of time he devotes to it instead of me (or wedding planning…). We even drove 9 hours to his hometown so he could be there for the draft for his main league, during which he was so preoccupied that he didn’t introduce me to his groomsmen and other friends when I showed up later in the evening. (le sigh)
BUT next year, he only gets 1 fantasy league. Muahahhaha!

I too am a football wife widow. Football actually starts the sunday after our wedding. But we’ve been watching prelims and collage ball for a while now… lol!

eesh – hubs just started fantasy football this year. so far the game watching has been okay but he had to be back in our room for 11 pm on our HONEYMOON TO DRAFT HIS PICKS! grr. it’s okay though, lol. in addition, this morning he was all bummed because his 1st pick QB is already out for the year. I don’t even know who it is.

I agree. I like football. Not as much as my guy friends but it’s fun to watch a game when you understand what’s going on 🙂
Funny story. My mom’s the sports fan in my family- my dad sort of is, but not as much. My dad went to work once and complained to the guys that all his wife did all weekend was watch football and shout at the TV and she didn’t do anything else. The guys all gave him blank stares and said… “Want to trade wives?” lol. See if your Fiance will teach you about it 🙂

Hunni, welcome to the club…My sweetheart is in 6 leagues…He did a free one with me so that I could get “into it” this year…it’s not helping, but atleast he’s trying to include me… :/

DH is thankfully fairly hands off with his team, just resorts at the end of each week and a couple hours before the draft. He loses me for more football time than I do for him (thank you band obligations).
