AWFUL. And it costs me a fortune! I pay per text.

No wonder! I got a text saying happy new year, I did not recognise the sender. I was embarrassed to say I did not know who they were. I had just received a group text abt 2 min earlier.

Ugh. Hate them. Luckily my phone shows that it’s a group text, so I just respond to the person directly… but still! Such a hassle!

Group texts should be banned, nobody should send one without legal consequences. And what is the point anyway? Why should you send one if you are not the Starbucks?

I never even knew group texts were possible. I knew it was possible to send a text to multiple contacts but not in a way that they can then see eachothers numbers and reply to all! This scares me!

It bugs me on facebook when someone sends a group message and you reply (assuming it is only going to the originator and accidentally reply to everyone : (

I hate them.  I hate them so much that I never respond to them.  If I respond to the original sender, I open a new text and respond in a separate message, just to be a little annoying.

Oh, i hate them more than anything.  Especially around the Holidays.  On Christmas Day I got SEVENTEEN text messages filled with pictures and crap from people that i have NO IDEA who they are!!  It is so frustrating.

And how rude is a group text to begin with?  Especially when wishing someone Merry Christmas?  My best friend sends one out to like 50+ people every year and I’m like…jeez…can’t I even get a personal text?

And I’m always the person saying, “who is this?”  to the person that is one day late on responding to the text.

@MrsStayPuft:  I hate them too!  I don’t have an iphone so I don’t know who the text is all going to.  The other day a friend got engaged and texted a large group about it.  The ding woke me up (she’s 2 hours behind me) but I could have fallen right back asleep.  However, it continued to ding 15 more times before finally slowing down to the occasional random ding.  At that point I was fully awake and worried I had a friend losing their mind by texting that much. Nope, just 10 random phone numbers saying “awesome, congrats.”  Wanted to tear my hair out.

I agree!  I have a terrible phone, and it just can’t handle group texts very well.  I can never see who is on the conversation, and they cost extra.  My old phone would allow me to send identical texts to multiple people without it being a group text, and I miss that.

I don’t do group texts anymore, I send everyone the same text individually. I HATE GROUP TEXTS TOO! Amen, sister.

Reply all or reply sender would be cool, although I bet there would still be a ton of people unthinkingly hitting reply all lol.

I havent had problems with group texts because really the only people I group text with are my two groups of friends, from high school and college. I love leaving my phone and coming back a couple hours later to 30,40, even 50 texts and we’re all catching up!!

@MrsStayPuft:  My Mother-In-Law is notorious for group texts. She will send a picture of her damn dog, which is annoying enough, but then when the 5 other people respond, I get those responses, and I am just like, “Really? IDGAF.”

Since group texts on my phone switch to MMS messages, I always have my data turned off whereever I am, and it prohibits any MMS messages from coming through. Not that that would work in your case, just in mine, but I know where you are coming from. Stupid feature.

My brother does it but he just includes his partner and my husband. I suppose it would be annoying if random strangers were included. I’m glad I don’t know anyone who does that.

However, it reminds me of people who hit “reply all” at the office. I’d like to put those people out of their misery. Yes, the entire company needs to see your smiley face (idiot).
