I am comfortable with the rest of my body, but I really hate my arms. My dress (Alfred Angelo 1148) is beautiful and off the shoulder, but I pictures from the side make me cringe. I really don’t want to wear a a bolero because I think they make me look like a football player. I haven’t purchased the 1148 yet, but I love the way it makes the rest of my body looks (covers the girls, tucks the waist, corset back, etc.) so if anyone has arm-friendly suggested for a July wedding I would appreciate it.

I’m with you on arm hatred. I feel like I should carry 5lb weights with me wherever I go for the next month.

My arms are my “boo” area – I just don’t think they look great and want them to be more toned.
2 weeks ago I started doing a Pilates DVD for upper body – I can’t remember the name (but can get it when I go home at lunch if you would like it). It’s shtick is that it’s a 10 minute tone/sculpt workout (10 min. per body area), with a pilates band that comes with the DVD.
I honestly have seen results, just doing it 10 minutes every morning – even FH commented that he noticed a difference. I got the DVD at Target.

I’m with you girl. And I’ve tried on a million (ok, six) different boleros and hated every single one. My wedding is more casual, so this may not work for you, but I ended up deciding to wear a purple 3/4 sleeve cardigan – which slims better than white cap-sleeve boleros do on the arms. Maybe consider an alternative to a bolero (like a shawl or sweater) or one in a coordinating color (as we look slimmer in darker colors and you’ll get less of a football player feel!).

Pushups and 30-day shred for the win!

I’m in the same boat. HATE my arms. I’ve been doing the Jillan Michael’s video “No More Trouble Zones” and I do feel like it’s been helping, but I’m going to amp it up to doing it three times a week (hopefully with heavier weights!) as the wedding gets closer.

I also think you should do push ups everyday for the whole month and you should defintely see some tone.

i hate my arm toooo! i’m going the strapless route and i really need to get on an arm-fat-busting workout! I love strapless dresses and the way mermaid silhouettes look on me – except that the fact that they can slim and hide everything except my big fat arms 🙁 sigh.
thanks to all the ladies who have so far offered the arm workout advice! anyone have any other good arm fat removing workout suggestions?

Push ups or boxing or both together! 🙂
These 2 things can do wonders!

@Jaxx317: Sadly you can’t spot reduce fat. If you want to lose weight in your arms, you have to lose everywhere.

i have the arm situation too…
i have just been doing lots of cardio.. and i try to move my arms around when jogging or even walking on the treadmill…
Do alot of weights.. biceps, triceps and pushups.. i have even picked up boxing a little… we bought a heavy bag a year ago and we started using it again.. my arms are better also if you are light skinned.. get a little tan i know that helped me. lol

What about the shake weight? has any one tried that? I am very tempted to get one.

10 Push-ups in the a.m. and another set of 10 in the evening. Results = 4 days.

My arms aren’t horrendous, but I knew I would “pick them apart” in all my wedding photos, so I’ve ordered a wrapor to wear at the wedding just to make me feel more comfortable.
Or I’d go with a pashmina to drape over your arms. I just knew no amount of toning or lifting weights was going to make me comfortable enough to wear a strapless dress, but that’s just me. 😉

I bought a Shake Weight at Target for like twenty bucks. Okay, so you will look totally ridiculous doing it but it really works. Even doing it for a few minutes makes your arms burn so it’s gotta be doing something. It’s a no brainer to use and it’s fast. I even do it with one hand while I brush my teeth. I haven’t been doing it long but I’m starting to notice a change in my upper arms.
