…. and i think its too late to fire them!
Here’s the thing – right from the start we knew who we wated to cater our food. Let’s call them C’s – anyway, they have restaurants inthe area and they also do on- and off-site catering. So, we hired them (after getting a few other estimates from other caterers) and the lady we dealt with, who was the head of the catering dept was AMAZING. Let’s call her “L”. She was knowledgable, friendly, excited, and responsive. A few months later, she left the company after 10 years. The new person, let’s call her “T” – sucks. She doesn’t know what the hell she’s talking about half the time, always has to go check on things (which i know, is better than just making shit up), doesn’t respond in a timely fashion and is not friendly. she’s not rude, but definitely not super nice/friendly/excited/etc. Anyway, even though we never did a tasting with C’s, we want to set one up now, just to be sure everything will be perfect, right? So i just called ot set this up, and you would have thought I was asking for her to headstands on tables. She was like “well, what did you want to taste?” And i’m like, “um, the menu we created” and she’s like “i don’t think anything has changed since last time” And i’m like, we never had a tasting” so, i pull out my contract and tell her i want to taste a, b, c, d … blah blah blah. And that i want to go over all the details for day-of stuff. Like, what exactly C’s will be setting up for us, timing, etc. She says that is fine, and we hung up. Now I realize that i don’t even feel prepared for this. Anyways, aside from this conversation there have been infinite other occasions when emailing or phoning or even meeting in person, that T has not impressed me. Like she’s got her head up her ass. Whatever. Too late now I think.
