Hmmm I wish I had a little bit of your issue (32A over here!) but maybe you could get a halter top and then just take the straps down while you are lying down suntanning?

Ditto over here.  I don’t think you’ll be able to go strapless if you want support.  I went with one of the full figured D cup swimsuit tops from VS but it had one of those vintage looking halter straps.  If I was worried about tanning I would have removed the straps, but I just burn in the sun and I’ve had skin cancer twice already so I really stayed out of the sun completely before my wedding and on my honeymoon.  I’m so paranoid about the sun these days.

Ahhh, this is the most anoying thing, I totally understand! 34 Dirty Delete = not the easiest thing to shop for.  Depending on where you’re going to be swimming, you have some options.

If it’s going to be in your backyard or with someone you know (and trust!), just un-do your straps while you’re laying out. And don’t forget that you undid them when you go to stand up. Bad idea.

If you’re going to be somwhere more public, try getting a haltar with spaghetti straps. I know it sounds like it won’t work, but they can actually be surprisingly supportive if the shape of the cups is right. That helps to minimize a lot of the tan lines.

If that isn’t working out, you can always try tanning beds to even out the lines… I know, I really hate advocating this because a lot of people take it to the extreme, but it DOES help get the job done.

Also, have you checked the VS online catalogue? They make some bathing suit tops specifically for D-DD sizes, they might have something there, but you’d likely have to order it online and I dont know how you feel about that.

I’m probably a 34Dirty Delete right now. I’m not sure, as I’ve gained weight and haven’t been fitted recently. I don’t see think strapless bathing suits are an option. I generally just wear a regular bikini, but I’m kind of dreading bikini season this year.

@Meowkers: The sizes for that VS stop at D. I guess I could try the 34D.

@meowkers- that is actually the style of the top I bought from there and it works well for me.  Best swimsuit top I’ve ever had.

Ditto on the J.Crew.  They do have extended sizes and most of the bandeau tops have a little bit of boning on the sides for support.  And most of them come with a removable halter strap as well…so you can use that for support and remove to avoid the tan lines.

First, start loving your body!  Second, avoid VS they don’t make bras big enough (very rare to find a Dirty Delete there…it sucks!).

As far as what to do about tan lines you should either:

  1. get a triangle top that ties around the neck and just tie it around your body sometimes instead.
  2. get a couple of different style tops and change them up often so it spread the tab lines around
  3. get a airbrush tan before wedding to help cover up any lines you might get from tanning.

Avoid strapless…they don’t flatter chests of our size.
