I’m so sorry Bee! I don’t have any real advice, just wanted to send you my best wishes. Regardless of what you decide, try and make the most of your non-working time. This horrible job makes you miserable during the working hours…find solace during your non-working time. Do something relaxing. You deserve it!

I made this sort of ‘mistake’ a few years ago. I essentially had a position at a new company ‘handed’ to me, and it was a step up from what I was doing. In the interview, in essence they COMPLETELY lied about what the position was. I was expecting your standard 40 hour, 5 day a week position. I was also lead to believe this was a supervisor type position, and I’d also be in charge of the social media. TOTAL BULLSHIT. They just gave the job an important sounding title. Yeah, SOME WEEKS I got my 40 hours…but they were spread out over SIX days, not five. Every time off request I ever made was denied too. We were given NO breaks (my boss felt that times when there were no clients were ‘breaks’). Also, on my ONE day off I was sometimes forced to come in and ‘volunteer my time’…yes I’m serious! I was also bullied at work too for my apperance (it was the medical aesthetics industry I will admit). I was told regularily I should consider ‘corrective’ plastic surgery for my ‘five head’, or that I should lose weight (I’m 5’10 and was 150lbs at the time). They forced me to cut and dye my hair (and they still told me it looked terrible). The FINAL straw was when my boss had a ‘coaching conversation’ with me because I’d drink two cups of coffee a shift and have two bathroom breaks. He wanted me to cut down to one cup of coffee and go to the bathroom only once – or not at all…I WISH I was kidding! Near the end I came home and cried every day. I stuck it out nine months.
Trust me, it’s not worth it. Start job shopping for the sake of your mental health!
