If you hoped for a 2ct ring maybe set your priorities other way. To me it sounds ungrateful and honestly i think many beea would love this ring.

What a stupid comment to make.

Anyways, OP– you already know the ring is nice. If you really hated and loathed it you wouldn’t have posted it on a public forum asking for opinions. You clearly know it isn’t hideous, and it’s an insult to everyone’s intelligence to suggest that this really is a huge deal.  It’s not, the attention seeking gets old, in real life and online. Don’t be one of those women.

every girl should be happy even if its a plain band. because the ring is a symbol of the commitment and shouldn’t be a materialistic thing

I never understood the big deal about these threads. So the OP doesn’t ‘love’ the ring (ie- material object) her fiancé gave her, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t love the person who gave it to her, it’s all about communication if one can’t relay how they feel to the other about something as simple as a stone and piece of metal how the hell are they going to manage any other difference of opinion in life? I’m sure the OP’s fiancé would rather know that his soon to be wife is happy with what’s on her finger, and if they couldn’t afford it now save up for the one she wants later in life. Obviously the ring IS a priority to the OP moreso than a new car and the man she is marrying should be aware of where her priorities are and the OP I’m sure is aware of their financial situation/ability of him and her as a couple. It’s not a totally unreasonable request, actually it’s likely more unreasonable to compare the purchase of a new ring to that of a new car if they already each have their own cars! What good is a ‘3rd car when you only have two drivers?

you should tell him you want a new ring. that’s the only way you’ll be happy.

soy:  I take more of an issue with the possibility that she may not know what she is getting herself into financially. There is a huge difference in a .80 ct and 2 ct center stone, like a $10k difference. I think she needs to figure out why he promised her something he couldn’t deliver on. Maybe he didn’t do his research beforehand and know the type of commitment he was making by saying she could get a 2 ct stone. Maybe she thinks he’s better off than he actually is.

MrsYokiman:  This may have already been answered, but a police-trained German Shepherd costs about $10-15k depending on what they are trined to do, so maybe a secondhand police-trained dog, or one a dept wouldn’t take?

ETA: just saw it was a pit bull. nvm
