So i wrote this to you on your last thread but idk if you took it the wrong way and i hope you didnt. You venue is the best kind of blank canvas. Think about all the sparkly candelabras, floral arrangements, candles, drapery and lights that could transform your place with very little expense. This is what i see happening:

And thia before and after:::

Please dont worry and stress. Your night will be magical. Also, when you ask for advice – not everyone will tell you what you want to hear.

@BeeRod527:

Sending this from my phone so i apologize if the post is all out of whack. It deleted its self twice already.

@BeeRod527:  Sweetie, to be honest uplighting does wonders. Wonders I tell you!

So even if you can’t actually drape stuff on the ceilings, the uplighting will do the job for you! Not sure what your colors are but pink/lavender uplighting is always fun, and amber uplighting is always a safe choice for making the room warm.

Paper lanterns are also a good idea! They give some dimension to the room and make it more festive.

Check out this site especially the ceremony decor page (the one I linked) and look at all the awesome cheap things you can incorporate into your wedding!

EDIT: I just read that you said you don’t think you’ll be able to cover all the walls because of the lights – do you mean just the ceiling or the walls as well? Because I don’t think you should cover the walls at all. Maybe just remove those bushes with lights that are on the panneling of the walls (not sure what they are?) and that should do the trick to clean up the look.

Also, as far as ceiling draping – you can do drapes that attach at the base of each light and hang in between them, if that makes any sense. So it doesn’t have to be the usual drapery that meets at the middle of the room where the gigantic chandelier is. Your drapes can be horizontal, attached to the base of each light, and then loose in between two lights. Not sure if you get what I mean haha.

like this (please don’t laugh, I obviously suck at photoshop):

@BeeRod527: Try the uplighting first and see how you feel! If you think it’s not enough, drapery like I had mentioned would be a great addition!

I think you could mix blues and ambers to create an elegant blue that doesn’t look like the one you posted 😛

I was thinking like this:

Plus since your chandeliers are already a nice shade of warm amber, your venue will not look like that picture at all! 🙂 Plus warm lanterns and candles will break up the blue-ness.

@BeeRod527:  i dont think kts trashy at all!!! I promise you when the lights go out they all look the same… Id rather go to a fun party and dance all night than a place beautifully decorated.. Only people who notice small thigs like drapes are snooty girls.. Let them spend an extra 5k and you can save it for something useful

My venue looks a LOT like yours- very plain and I had similar regrets, but I cannot BEAT the price. The ceremony is outdoors on a gorgeous elevated patio and the inside ballroom for the reception is bleh.  I’m adding purple uplighting, extravagant center pieces, and white chair covers w/ bow sashes along with the table cloths.. one thing I do like about my venue is the chandeliers (yours has it too)! I’m amazed with how much certain things can transform an entire room! I’m excited to see my vision come to life and I know yours can be dolled up too!
