I don’t understand what is funny about falsely calling someone a homophobe? Add to that that this is a child we are talking about. 

Given the current world we live in, especially the far right and rise in hate, the jaded me thinks this was started to make the LGBTI community look bad.

There’s been a disturbing uprise in people being driven off of social medial platforms due to bullying – the actress who played Rose in the latest Star Wars movie also ended up deleting all of her Instagram posts due to harassment online. The only silver lining I can see out of this is that maybe it increases awareness, but it’s just a shame that people use the anonymity of the Internet to be cruel. I even see it here sometimes and have experienced it myself  I wish people would just be kind.

I don’t even remotely understand the ‘joke’ here. And that it is fuelled by the LGBTQ community (or at least some of them) is just bizarre. I don’t get it at all.
