The 2nd one would get annoying, but I suppose that’s just something you will have to explain. Everyone thinks that you need a ring in order to be engaged.

The 1st one, however, is extremely rude. Why are they asking you? To make sure you fit in your dress? I think I’d fire a snarky comment back, maybe ask them how much they weigh first. I wouldn’t put up with that. I know my mom doesn’t ask me, but she says “it doesn’t look like you’ve gained weight so the dress should be ok” which is an ok thing to say (plus she’s my mom), but guests in my own home I’d be ticked.

Rant justified 🙂

#1- WTF??? Who the ^&&* does that? Unless you’ve been talking to someone specifically about your weight, it’s none of their business!!

#2- I hear you. My engagement ring was a family ring set in yellow gold (which I didn’t like) and the diamond was loose, so I couldn’t wear it. I *finally* figured out the setting I wanted (found another estate setting), and I will get my engagement ring 6 days before the wedding! 🙂

Ugh that would bug me, I get the weight question all the time because I’m so tiny, its like why do care so much?

And the ring thing, I do not have my ring yet, Fiance is waiting for the proper funds but we ARE engaged.  Everytime I say the words “my fiance” their eyes go straight to my finger!  I’d rather have a heartfelt commitment then a random ring (not saying i don’t want a ring, but I want the ring he has picked out just for me)
