I have 4 books that I’ve bought throughout the years that are either long, a bit dense, or both. I’m currently reading Red Queen with the book club, but I thought I could start a longer book for the second half of this month, and catch up with the book for August mid to late August depending on how long one of these other books takes me. Please let me know which of these you recommend, or even don’t recommend!
1. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabrial Garcia Marquez – I bought this book in high school when I was going through a classic literary phase. I started it, but never finished.
2. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett – I bought this book in college. I believe I was, again, looking for a classic at the time. I started the book while away on field work, but alas, I never finished it.
3. Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan – I bought this book after the amazing Fox News interview during my first year of graduate school. It was a poor time to start a book… because, again, I didn’t finish it.
4. House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski – I just purchased this book today. My sister brought it with when she was visiting, and I did some research and it sounds very interesting. As much as I want to read it, I have so many other ambitious books I’ve been meaning to read. I feel like it could be my “reward” for finishing one or more of the books above. I haven’t started it yet! haha.
Thank you so much for any input!
