I am so sad!! I started this cold on Monday and my wedding is this Friday… It’s Wednesday and I don’t feel that much better. I’ve been doing everything in the book to try to get over this as quick as possible: Drinking lots of water, taking vitamin C, echinacea, using saline solution spray in my nose… I slept 14 hours last night. I’m totally stressing out about this; and I know stressing isn’t helping. But my Fiance ALSO has the same cold. We are both sick and I’m terribly sad 🙁

@PennyLane67: Aw poor thing. I got sick before my wedding too. But trust me, with all the adrenaline and fun, you’ll still feel ok and have a blast!
Have you been taking zinc? It’s a cold-fixing miracle. Just keep trying to get a lot of sleep, drink of ton of water, do everything else you’ve been doing, and you’ll be able to rally on Friday. Hugs!

Thank you ladies I am in need of the pep talk! I’ll definitely try the zinc! Thanks for the tip 😀

@PennyLane67: Awe I’m sorry honey! The day before and the morning of my wedding I had NO voice. Literally could not talk. I drank some stuff called Throat Coat which you can get at GNC or Rite Aid and it worked like a charm. If a sore throat is a part of your problem, try it! Singers swear by it, it’s totally amazing.
Have you tried emergen-c? And remember that you can overdose on vitamin C and turn it ineffective, so pay attention to how much you’re taking! I hope you feel better soon!

@PennyLane67: I am a true believer in zinc lozenges. They work really well for me and my sister.

You will be ok… Even if you have the sniffles, so don’t worry about it.. You will be beautiful.

Its ok. I totally had a cold on my wedding day too. I went to the pharmacists and asked for some meds to get me through the day and she said its actually very common! your stressed, not sleeping properly, its bound to happen! Keep doing what your doing and make sure you have meds to get you through the day.

Thanks for the support – It’s funny how my mom and Fiance keep telling me the same things you are all telling me, but when it comes from people who have gone through it or are in the process of planning a wedding and understand the stresses, it means much more 🙂 I will definitely be going to get zinc lozenges today; and I’ll be careful on how much Vitamin C I am taking. Fingers crossed that this miraculously goes away in the next day or two!!!

This is going to sound weird, but trust me, it works…..put Vicks Vapo Rub on your feet under your socks at bedtime – I swear to you, you will feel a world of better in the morning!

@happyheidi1984: I have Vicks Vapo Rub! I’ll try it tonight 😀 Thanks!!

@PennyLane67: Drink tea with honey, lemon, and just a little bit of apple cider vinegar as well.
I know its hard not to stress, but just relax and rest. That is the only thing that will make you really healthy. Even if you guys are sick on your wedding day, red noses can be touched up and your cold sniffles will blend in with your crying becuase you’re happy sniffles and you guys will have fun no matter what 🙂

@PennyLane67: Poor PennyLane is going to be smelling like Vicks, sucking on lozenges and sleeping 20 hours a day while trying to keep her well-hydrated over-full bladder at bay. You can do it!!!
