I have a question…why does it matter?

If I can see a ring, it is real. I don’t care if it is a diamond, a moissanite, or an ice cube.

While I know many who are happy to tell the world their ring is a moissanite/Amora Gem/CZ, I can tell you the reason some people try and “pass them off” is because just like here, in real life if people find out it is not a diamond they get told it is not real, they hear negative comments about how their partner cheaped out (even if they chose the ring themselves!), that they can always upgrade later to something real.

I have diamonds and moissanite. Both are beautiful in their own right. I do slightly prefer my own diamonds, but I would also take a great moissanite over a poor cut/poor performing diamond any day. While I don’t hide the fact I wear moissanites too, I don’t care to go around making sure people who see it are not assuming they are diamonds. I would never do that to someone either. Because again…who cares? I sure don’t.

There are no bonus life points for having a diamond versus anything else.

annieem :  Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion. Calling someone else’s choice of ring ugly is just rude though as is picking out one person’s post. There are many rings I have seen on here (and some stones) which I don’t think are the prettiest but then I don’t comment on the threads.

Because a lot of people have no self-esteem and decide that others get to determine their worth, and that this “worth” is determined by what type of ring/wedding/house/possessions they have. They are the saddest people and I pity them.

Honestly who cares what’s on someone else’s finger? Should we not just be worried about our own?
