The venue doesn’t have a restaurant so I’m hiring an outside caterer.

Caterer we are having the wedding at a family members  home so everything has to be brought in. It will be a whole lot of work but it will be worth it 🙂

My wedding is in my parents backyard because we are on a small budget. But we are making everything!!! It seems like a lot, but not really when you only have 50 people coming to the wedding. Plus a few other people are going to help us. But we will save a lot of money.

Our venue has a list of vendors and lets us bring in vendors. I will be using a vendor off of their list for our food.

We are doing most of the food ourselves, with the help of my mom who is a chef. We will prep most things the day before, and we are hiring a family friend (also a chef) and his wife to help serve the food and man the bbq for day of.

Our venue has an on-site restaurant but they only have the capacity to cater for up to groups of 30. We’ll have about 70 guests.

We’re having it at a restaurant event space (pavilion).  We looked a venue that was bare bones…we’d have to bring in everything and they didn’t even have a kitchen! Their preferred vendors were “used to their ways of working” and would “truck in the already-prepared meals in a hot box, or bring a grill to the front lawn”.  I couldn’t stand the thought of our meals being trucked in airplane-food style, so I’m glad we picked the restaurant; all the food will be cooked within feet of our space.  I don’t know if that was the cheaper choice in this instance…although our venue (obviously) woudln’t allow outside caterers, I sometimes feel that using a caterer specializing in weddings would have been cheaper.  Our cost/head for our reception is astronomical and I’ve been having some big regrets recently!!

We’re hiring a caterer.  We rented just a space, but we wanted to do New Orelans/Cajun type food, so that worked best for us!

I voted “other” because our caterer came with our venue (not a restaurant).  I was sort of bummed that we didn’t get to pick our own caterer, but the venue was so perfect that we went with it anyways.  Turns out, food was delish.

If I could do it all over again, I would.  I kind of liked not having the hassle of finding a caterer on our own!

My reception is not at a restaurant (it is actually at a zoo), however they have their own event catering and do not allow you to bring in outside catering.

@AussieSummer:  Our venue includes catering if we wanted, but we opted for outside catering.

I chose other!  We went with our venue’s on site caterer.  The price is amazing and the food is delish!
